I actually don’t get around to opening things right away (even a year) which is pretty bad in case an item is damaged. Also, I know people who buy things and wait a month or two to open them as presents for themselves even.
I'm DYING!! LOL I think it depends on what it is. I am like you, it could be a pair of shoes or clothes that I haven't worn or opened in six months. But if it was a BIRKIN or KELLY! They're lying! I think what they meant is I already opened it, tried it on and worn it out to dinner. But I put the flannel back on, stuck it back in the bag, closed the tissue, put the top back on, and tied the ribbon. And now I am opening it back up for you. But if they're fakes, passing it off as real, you know they opened it up to check it out! HAHA

Things unboxed for a year (still wrapped up with ribbons or in shopping bag or box straight from store) Chanel WOCs, wallets, sunglasses (I buy so many to match upcoming outfits lol) although don’t really like sunglasses on myself except on vacation, jewelry, shoes. I did open up my Birkin right away.

I see this influencer over and over again on my discover pages. According to her recent story, she won’t share her boutique success outside of her Paris shenanigans now that she’s “famous” and getting recognized. Ma’am please, my dog had more followers than you when he was alive and on IG.

Which one of you is gonna shell out that $27 and share the wealth with the rest of us

She came in to defend herself here. ;)

It’s odd and funny how, nowadays, the new “trend” is for a lot of luxury/fashion YTubers to “shut down their channels” or to shift to featuring other topics that don’t talk about their luxury hauls. Obviously, if you are biting more than you could actually chew, there will come a time that you will need to puke these all out! You can’t have luxury hauls forever if you really don’t have the money to sustain such a lifestyle..you can only do so for so long…..but then the truth will be revealed eventually! Thus, the shut-down of some of these channels! Who and how many can really afford five to six figure (in USD) unboxings each month? And truthfully, those that can afford to buy a new Chanel Couture dress and a new Chanel bag and shoes each month and donate huge amounts to Charity balls don’t post it themselves online and don’t have a YT/IG account for that. A lot of wealthy (especially those that have multi-generational wealth) people that I know of actually want to “hide” what they have. With kidnappings, break-ins at home, and lawsuits, they don’t actually want to be identified as well-heeled nor would they want their “wealth status” to be confirmed by the public thru flaunting their possessions, even when it’s already super obvious and that their family name already smells like affluence and old money. They already know that even if they wore tattered old jeans and buy in a convenience store, the world already knows that they are wealthy just by mentioning their last name! They do not need to buy another designer bag, they don’t need to unbox anything new and grand, they don’t need to have their own channel, nor do they need to mention that they are rich! Their yacht, jet plane, buildings, and school building that the family donated with their grandfather’s name, already do that for them (even if they want to be low-key)!

There is nothing wrong in liking and buying expensive and designer items. Buy because you truly like it and can afford it. Not because you were “influenced” by someone you don’t know online. The “opulent lifestyle” that they show, the continuous unboxings and materialism that is being shared by a lot of them is usually far from their truth and their actual financial capacity. Even the uber rich have budgets. They wouldn’t become comfortable and well-to-do if they were foolish about money and spending.

I’m late to the party and have been reading from Page 1… didn’t make it to this. Didn’t know she was part of PF lmao. My bad.

“Because I was tired of responding to dozens of DMs daily asking me how I scored my mini Kelly in Paris. Then I would direct people to my videos. But people are usually too lazy to watch videos.”

1) We went from DMs are annoying to let’s monetize a guide that has no novel information thanks to the people who share info for free. Judging by her posts from Sep 2022, she was asking people here for advice regarding Paris. Come on now. :|

2) People are too lazy to watch a video but are suddenly not too lazy to get their credit card out to spend money on a guide they have to read? Sis, I appreciate the hustle but you’re gonna strain your back with this kind of reaching.

Bless her heart. We all have to eat somehow, I guess.

I mean, this is really it. These guys are all just hustling, some with real knowledge/understanding - some with, um, a bit less. But it's all about money in the end, or for a few, about fame. Everyone wants an edge and they will keep trying to one-up each other. As long as someone consumes what they are creating, they will keep doing it.

I agree, but then there's Jaime Chua. I think she does it cause she has really nothing else to do! LOL now that's a person that lives in Luxury. She's totally like the movie Crazy Rich Asians. I don't think she has to worry about only 2 bags a year. I am sure her BF has his own sales history too. So that would be four bags a year. But then again she has over 200? Even the Diamond Himalaya! I do like her for some odd reason. It's like nothing to her to drop 50K on a bag.

On another note... Allegedly, I heard that a lot of YT influencers that do these Luxury hauls buy them and then sell them on the resale market or ebay for less. So they are making some of their money back. As based on their followers, the don't have enough to monetize their channel.
