So this discussion in general is not really about Hermes and influencers only, but all influencers - it is a job for them. Cassie specifically quit her day job. How do you at all get a following etc and then earn money- by doing something different - and she does. Like all of influencers have gotten a share of the business that previously would go to actors / models etc. It's smart because even Hermes, right or not, seems attainable that way. And no matter what strategy: all luxury brands need to grow through volume and not just price. Even if influencers suck the less financially able in.
Even if Hermes doesn't sponsor, it is quite interesting how several influencers have access to instore inventory and I wasn't able to try on a bag in my home store the other day, as bags are now for 'looking only' (I am in my 40s, not a KG child). I am not very bothered personally because I mostly by in the preloved or secondary market.
another example is Lydia E Millen who was dead set against H bags and that has clearly changed - lol. Can't position yourself in the luxury segment of YouTube and co. and not look at Hermes at some point.
