Influencers and Hermes

Just chiming in on the topic of whether influencers are given special treatment.

Like some others on TPF, I personally have doubts that Hermes as a brand (i.e. the company overall) gives any extreme special treatment to influencers. A bit of favors here and there - maybe a rodeo/pegasus charm that won't be shown to every regular customer, or slightly less pre-spend for a BKC - sure, I'd believe that. But I doubt it's anything major like getting a BKC offer after only spending 2-3k. At least in my head, the pros/cons of such special treatment simply don't balance: pro of the advertising to that influencer's followers vs. the backlash the brand will receive once the general public (+ their loyal customer base) finds out.

But what I think hasn't been mentioned yet is the human factor - i.e. the SAs and SMs. SAs are human and they are surely actively engaging in social media too. If they recognize a youtuber who walks into the store, if they like their style, their personality, yes I believe then the SA'd be more willing (compared to an average customer) to talk to the SM about a BKC offer, even SO offer. This is of course applicable to non-influencer customers too (duh), and even outside Hermes; if you hit it off with someone, you’re more willing to do nice things for them! But in general, considering a youtuber (vs. a regular customer/walk-in) probably the conversation alone would be more interesting than your average customer, no? I'm polite and make small chat with my SA but our conversations are hardly stimulating, and I imagine most of her day is filled with people like me. But if a youtuber walks in, hey it'd instantly be a bit more intriguing! I can see how that would work beneficially towards the influencer lol.

Maybe this is already obvious to TPFers but just adding my two cents because I really enjoy reading this particular thread haha
Agreed. I think it's hard for Hermes to give special treatment to micro influencers at a company level when most opportunities are given to these people at each SM's discretion.

I wonder though if Hermes gives special opportunities to mega influencers though like people who write high traffic blogs and articles or even major celebrities. Very interesting to think about. Glad you brought it up.

It would make sense that they do given there were “ad” stories being posted after the fashion show, and I’ve definitely seen influencers be gifted things like lip sets and nail sets (for clarity, these are VIP clients who are influencers)

Just wondering what the influencer who now lives on a boat did with all of their Hermes bags. I haven't seen any in videos recently and that was a pretty big part of their image.
HS? I feel like I saw her post a story a few weeks ago where someone asked and she said she still has them. I know she had primarily afforded much of her shopping/bags through her now? soon to be? ex-husband. I feel like I saw a video on TT about a year ago where she was placing a SO at Madison, can't recall if I ever have seen her reveal that bag but will be interesting to see if it ever shows up/gets picked up and revealed.

She said on a recent video that they're safe and in storage on dry land.
This may be one of my favorite thread in this forum. Wait what is happening? Who is this influencer? Can someone please PM me?

I’m not an Hermes girl but I can’t stop thinking about the HK influencer Abby Choi and her purple Hermes birkin was taken as evidence from the crime scene. Poor girl seemed like a really sweet and kind heart girl…..she did not deserve what happened to her. I don’t think I can look at lilac Birkin the same way now.

Wait, what happened? I don’t follow any influencers and this actually sounds interesting lol

She literally was kidnapped by her ex husband family and murdered/chopped up to pieces.
One of the evidence at the crime scene was her cream/pink Birkin that she was carrying at the time of the kidnapping.
Just happened recently in HK and is all over the news due to the gory nature of the crime. If you have a weak stomach, I do not recommend you look into this.

She was not so much a influencer, but an aspiring socialite that married into a rich family (although not legally wed at the time of her death) and was friends with some of the rich/famous wives in HK.

Such a stupid and needless crime. Whole family is now arrested along with individuals that helped.
The ex-husband's brother was her personal driver after the divorce and was the one that kidnapped her.
The crime is believed to stem from a land deal gone wrong which involved the previous husband's family.
The girl left four kids, two with the new husband, and two with the old one (who is part of the killing group).

Just shocking hey. I can’t believe how people can be so sadistic and depraved. I’m guessing greed, envy and resentment from her in laws had a lot to do with the events that transpired. She was so generous and treated them better than how some other people treat their blood relatives and she still came to the same fate. You cannot control how others feel I suppose. Her 4 children are without a mother now.

Something I think about is that people who become influencers; i.e. people who have the luxury to drop their actual jobs to go about filming luxury content have parents (or even partners) who are really well off and support their lifestyle. These parents also buy a lot from luxury stores like Hermes. I'm not exactly sure if family profiles are connected or if these people are buying under their parents' profile but it makes sense that an influencer who buys a pair of oran sandals is offered a mini kelly afterwards simply from the strength of the total family profile. A lot of influencers claim to have "worked really hard" to be able to afford all their items but I don't buy it since they built their brand/blog off luxury items in the first place.
Not sure if this influencer has been mentioned but literally the first one that came to my mind is Je Suis Lou  aka Lucia Beckman. And before people come for me, this is public information that this is her real name, which is how I found out. Based off her youtube content, she gets offered the most coveted birkins from her Hermes boutique - a black birkin 25 and a gold birkin 25 with hardly any pre-spend, like maybe orans and an Hermes blanket. She works hard and saves for her $10k plus bags by making sacrifices by not going to the nail salon or shopping at lululemon or sephora. This is how she states she has saved for her $10k plus bags, I wish I was joking. Just shows how out of touch she is with reality.

I'm sure she is a very sweet girl, but honest and transparent she sure is not.
