Right! I will say creating an SO was difficult for me because i wasn’t able to try on every size/sellier vs retourne (like most people haha)

I’m wondering if the sellier b25 was too stiff for her.

She did mention in her unboxing video how when going through her options, she wondered if she should just create something that was on her actual wishlist, because that would pretty much guarantee that she'd get exactly what she wanted. BUT, the sales team encouraged her to make it something "special" vs something she could get via a regular offer. She also had concerns about making a light color bag, but then said that because she had other light bags in her collection that have faired well, she should have no problems taking care of this one.

Buyer's remorse perhaps? (if she did in fact sell the bag)

Edit to add: And here's the thing: I have no issues with people selling their items if they no longer serve a purpose in their collection, is no longer their style, if people have a case of buyer's remorse... it happens, I've done it. But a custom ordered bag, which should be your ultimate IDEAL bag.... that's suspect, especially without an explanation. And being hush-hush about it too, when you have a very public persona...equally suspect.

I imagine that if she did sell it she'll be very hush hush about it, incase she pisses off her SA and SM.
Yeah really good point. I can't see her hiding it forever, TBH, but she might end up just keeping the comments about it short and sweet. +1 I bet it will piss off her SA and SM.

Also, I can't remember which video I was watching but I believe she said that both of her bags in Nata (SO & KP) are more delicate to her and she doesn't wear them as much. Perhaps that was why? In addition to them both being a bit small and daintier than her B30s. Still interesting that she may have dropped the SO and possibly kept her KP and cream CF, instead.

Side comment: for some reason, it really catches my attention when she pronounces Nata, "nadda".

Yeap, I think you nailed it. She also just had a wedding in Italy and immediate did a "closet cleanup" (aka reselling) afterwards.
I can’t speak for others but this is how I feel about this luxury lifestyle. If you need to cut down on other parts of your life to afford a birkin, good for you. I don’t care. Sometimes we need to sacrifice to get what we want. No problems with that.

If you have loads of money and don’t care you got your birkin after a 10:1 prespend, good for you too. What a fortunate situation to be in. I wish I can be in those shoes in the future.

But what I have a problem is with people that act like they can spend 10:1 but really they’re hiding their budget lifestyle. That’s just dishonest and I don’t appreciate being lied to. Keep it real. If you need to sell your old stuff to buy new stuff so be it. But just don’t act like you aren’t and make it seem like everyone should be able to afford living like this fake you.

Edit: I use “you” but I didn’t mean “you”. YKWIM?

This...this right here ^. And it's not her first time selling her bags, either! And that's fine.

It's about everything you said here (I would add that she has been very public about shopping at a VERY competitive boutique... they give you a great opportunity others covet **(people might argue she got special treatment), you take the opportunity, talk about it publicly, get your bag, take some pictures, and sell it. Woops).

FACTS.

Caitlyn does a 1 year review of her preloved birkin. While she enjoys the bag, she basically just said it felt like a box to check off. I’m sure it’s been discussed to death before (buying preloved birkin/Kelly vs in store) but I feel that she would feel differently about the Birkin if she actually “ played the game” ?

Just chiming in on the topic of whether influencers are given special treatment.

Like some others on TPF, I personally have doubts that Hermes as a brand (i.e. the company overall) gives any extreme special treatment to influencers. A bit of favors here and there - maybe a rodeo/pegasus charm that won't be shown to every regular customer, or slightly less pre-spend for a BKC - sure, I'd believe that. But I doubt it's anything major like getting a BKC offer after only spending 2-3k. At least in my head, the pros/cons of such special treatment simply don't balance: pro of the advertising to that influencer's followers vs. the backlash the brand will receive once the general public (+ their loyal customer base) finds out.

But what I think hasn't been mentioned yet is the human factor - i.e. the SAs and SMs. SAs are human and they are surely actively engaging in social media too. If they recognize a youtuber who walks into the store, if they like their style, their personality, yes I believe then the SA'd be more willing (compared to an average customer) to talk to the SM about a BKC offer, even SO offer. This is of course applicable to non-influencer customers too (duh), and even outside Hermes; if you hit it off with someone, you’re more willing to do nice things for them! But in general, considering a youtuber (vs. a regular customer/walk-in) probably the conversation alone would be more interesting than your average customer, no? I'm polite and make small chat with my SA but our conversations are hardly stimulating, and I imagine most of her day is filled with people like me. But if a youtuber walks in, hey it'd instantly be a bit more intriguing! I can see how that would work beneficially towards the influencer lol.

Maybe this is already obvious to TPFers but just adding my two cents because I really enjoy reading this particular thread haha

I disagree with that. I don’t think she would feel differently if she “played the game”. If she doesn’t like the bag , she doesn’t like the bag. However, I do think she would have gotten more uses out of this bag if it would have been a different color combination, maybe something more neutral. Just my 2cents

Disagree. No need to be honest... Just don't share. You don't have to broadcast and self promote yourself.
IMO if someone isn't willing to be honest and/or doesn't want to share information, they just shouldn't be content creators. Or at least they shouldn't be on YT (I actually enjoy seeing IG profiles that only show pictures and post stories)...I don't need an influencer on YT to show me every single thing they bought and their spend down to the penny or share every convo they had with their SA... But naturally people are going to be resentful if they find out that an influencer claims to be open but really is hiding important details...
