Influencers and Hermes

Meredith buying a saddle when she doesnt own a horse with the expectation 'maybe' her 6 year old will grow up to use it is probably one of the craziest H game antics I have ever seen online 😂
I just found out about this thread so I'm glad to see people talk about this. I only recently started watching luxury videos again and youtube recommended me this one. Like, spend money however you want, other people's opinions don't matter, but at the same time if you have so much money to waste I hope you donate just as much money. There's lots of more important uses for that money out there if you don't want it. xDDDDD

Also hating the trend of all the influencers holding that same little fuzzy microphone, or attaching it to something stupid (like a carrot or spatula that I’ve seen) or going to the full on old school version of it.
I think gen z started it and it's spread everywhere. Like the people who did it at first just didn't care to look polished but now people are being fake not polished? If that makes sense?

But won’t it look ever so cute in her living room on display while she extols the virtues of only buying things you truly love 🤣
I wish everyone bought things they loved AND used. Think about all the resources used when influencers buy stuff to make content with but don't use. The earth does not have infinite resources.

Me going through this thread: where's my popcorn?

Would love to ask TFPers in this thread, how many influencers have you seen that seem like they have shopping addiction? Because I've gotten the impression that the general consensus right now is ONLY Hermes is worth buying? So a lot of people might convince themselves they're saving money and shopping less or being more mindful with their consumption by not buying from other brands but then chase after Hermes bags?

….all the “I’m done”, “luxury sucks”, “ made in China” videos
These reaction videos make me lose hope in people's ability to have critical thinking and media literacy. The chinese guy (and I'm chinese) didn't specifically say Hermes bags were made in China. He said a lot of luxury designer bags were made in china and then shipped to europe for the final step so they can have the Made In Europe label. These things are true! We know this! But because he said all this while holding an Hermes dupe, suddenly everyone thinks this also includes Hermes. I don't own any hermes bags and I don't plan to, but I do worry about society after this.

Alyssa Lenore and her buy/sell rate is so hard to keep up with.. she just sold her vintage mini kelly (that she milked for many videos) through Fashionica and now advertising her new eBay So Kelly bags left and right

she’s probably one of the influencers who just buys something on a CC for a new video and then sell 6 months later with the latest trend 🤦🏻‍♀️
It makes me sad because Je Suis Lou and ALyssa Lenore are probably my favorite luxury youtubers to watch. You always see comments asking for her to make an updated bag collection video and I think she hasn't done that because she knows she's always changing bags in and out. I'd rather she just be honest and transparent and let us see all the bags then to show bags and then they disappear with no explanation. If you're a lifestyle blogger and you never mention your bags that's fine. But if you're reviewing bags and telling people about the bags you like and what are your favorites, I would want to know when you get rid of bags. It's ok to just say you're done with it. I'm sure she knows it might look bad for her to have so many bags but at least we would know the truth. This is why so many kids still want to be influencers even when the market is saturated. There's a lot of influencers with a lot more wealth than the average person.

This is why I've been watching Lou's videos more and more. She is just more honest and transparent with her bags and spending.

On a slightly different note, I do wonder when she will be satisfied with her bag collection. I'm sure part of the fun is constantly switching bags but I personally feel much more content having a set collection and being like, enough is enough. I'm not a content creator though.

This is not true. You are prohibit by law to assemble things in whatever foreign countries and ship it for the final step to for example Germany to get the Made in Germany.

A product qualifies as "Made in Germany" if it is manufactured in Germany, meaning the most important production steps, including development, design, and final assembly, take place within Germany. This often includes the decisive production step that determines the product's essential properties.

or for example Made in Italy:

A product qualifies as "Made in France" if it meets two key criteria: the last substantial transformation or assembly of the product takes place in France, and at least 50% of its unit cost price originates in France. This essentially means the product takes on its essential characteristics or final form within France.

Otherwise LVMH could just stamp there products made in France instead of Made in the USA.

So I guess, what Im saying is, people put out anything that creates a buzz, thus a click, as a click is a like and a like is dollar.

Welcome To The Team GIF by MOODMAN

Welcome @poleneinblack

Je Suis Lou has also grown on me lol. She posted yesterday she got a new H bag from that reseller she always uses. I am curious what she picked. I suspect it is another b25. Those that accused her of having fake MK were wrong, that MK came back from being spa'ed lol

To be honest, I had my doubts when I first got my Constance Élan. Etoupe seemed like such a delicate color to me, I wasn’t used to contrast stitching, and on top of that, I was a Maria Callas fan—carrying a bag so deeply tied to Jackie felt almost disrespectful! I even seriously considered returning it (I actually asked in the thread if I should!). But over time, I completely fell in love with my bag, and I’m so glad I didn’t send it back.

I can understand people feeling disappointed when they expect a BKC but end up with a different model. However, sheer cluelessness is on another level.

A friend of mine was offered a Bolide in a highly valuable color, and her reaction was something like, “The reseller value isn’t that high... does that mean it’s not as valuable as a BK? Ugh, what should I do?” God. Sometimes, I just feel sorry for those who chase after H pieces just for the sake of owning them.
That's so sad. I get being disappointed but a mini Bolide is so cute!

Watching people play the Hermes game and watching people play the Pop Mart Labubu game is the same. The overlap is a complete circle lol. And this is coming from a handbag lover and labubu lover.
LOL yes. Especially if you live far away from a store... PopMart never has any labubus in stock and if they did they won't sell to you! How to get one? Waiting list online. You're better off with resellers. But at least PopMart doesn't make exceptions for VIP clients with "relationships" with the brand. I think they're a bit more fair when it comes to first come first serve. But the bots are impossible to beat, much like the Hermes bots when there is a bag drop.
