Influencers and Hermes

I have been on this forum quite some time now. I have read on this very forum people preferring to eat certain types of cheap food, give up traveling, drive certain vehicles, sell one bag to fund the next, etc just to be able to afford luxuries. That sadly is nothing new and not influencer specific. I guess maybe it's more widely talked about. H and others have been taking this type of client.

ETA: I personally do not care how people choose purchase their items or what they choose to give up. I am a to each their own type.
Agree it’s not new when people choose to give up things to buy luxury. But my point (which seems to have been misunderstood through a response in a different thread) is when people give up a basic necessity like a haircut and they’re flaunting a luxury lifestyle on social media it’s sad and weird. How many haircuts does one need in a year and really does it save all that much? Makes you wonder what else they’re giving up. Two ply toilet paper?
I assume these luxury influencers buy luxury because they like to flex and show an aspirational lifestyle. Sure it’s their life and their money but that lifestyle is just an oxymoron. They are luxury influencers. They buy Chanel and Hermes Rtw and cut their own hair? Of course they’re free to live how they want to live, but I’m free to say what I think given these people have opened up their lives by being on social media.

Admittedly I misunderstood your original comment also. I understand what you are saying now. However, if I’m looking at a video knowing someone is selling a bag to buy a sofa I’m not looking to them to see a luxury lifestyle, no one should. I also understand how life works and know that not everyone will think the same. I mean influencers shouldn’t put their info out expecting everyone to agree with them and their ways.

Yes, you are totally entitled to your opinion just like everyone else is. And let’s be honest unless these haircuts are $1-2k+ each I don’t see how that helps with saving for a b at all . That’s just the b and NOT the relationship part. Those types of lifestyles aren’t sustainable and I’m sure lots find out quicker than they thought. But live and let live, right?!

I think I get you!

There is a YouTuber showing H bags but she has foam fake bricks from TaoBao as a background so…yeah.

Does anyone else follow/ know of Stephanie Shojaee? She has a tremendous collection and Hermes Milan just had her and her husband come in for a private dinner after closing. Social media can’t always be trusted but her Hermes experience is truly one for the books
I can’t get behind Stephanie Shojaee because her going around with all her #girlboss nonsense is an insult to all women executives everywhere.

Yes. Can't stand that woman. Being the mistress of a man who built a company with his ex wife and then eventually marrying him after they split (wonder why) doesn't make you a boss. Of any varietal.

I know! She started working at his company (that was built with his first wife's money) in marketing in 2014; then he separated from his first wife in 2015 (what a coincidence) and then divorced his first wife in 2019 and married her that same year. Then he promoted her to president (very clearly a show role). His first wife and two daughters are actually suing both of them for defamation. She def has an impressive Hermes collection and is connected to Michael Coste but I don't follow her; not so much because of all the stuff mentioned above but like you said the insufferable self-proclaimed "girl boss-ness/female unity" is so annoying and disingenuous. On another note Xhinworld, Juju World, and New York Maman are some Korean youtubers with quite a bit of Hermes content who I enjoy watching. I def recommend checking them out if you don't mind subtitles .

Guys I'm shocked!! Just saw a new youtuber (also on tiktok) who makes videos on how to score a quota bag in Paris. She created a guide "Hermes Paris Roadmap" and selling it for $50. What do you guys think about that? To be honest, I think this is wrong on so many levels. We all know there is no guarantee that you will be offered a Birkin or a Kelly.
 Wrong, desperate, and regardless of what it says, there's free and probably better info on SM platforms. Plus, Hermes is constantly changing so her advice will quickly become invalid if it isn't, already...

There’s a sucker born every minute.

Lord! Seriously? Let me sum up all the amazing information from this forum for free on how to “score a quota bag in Paris”. Apply for the online appt, spend on housewares, jewelry, rtw, or even furniture, throw in a skateboard for good measure, be polite and pray.

Also say that you have an appointment with Michael Coste, set up by your mutual friend. And then make a scene when the SA informs you that there is no such appointment/nor friendship.
