This is so good it should go in the unpopular opinion thread. Lol

The only influencers I like are the true lifestyle ones where H is part of their lifestyle but isn’t the point of their IG existence. The H content isn’t significant since it’s part of their life as opposed to the purpose of their account but it’s nice to see how people style their H items.
Some people make H their whole personality.

Woman buys Birkin…becomes investment advisor. These people are insufferable.
Lol, thank you for the IMO concise and precise summery and yes, Imo insufferable, too.
Though: I always try to be open to ‘new times’.
So I tried to watch this video, ... switched to 1.75x playback speed after 2 minutes - then this sounded like the quintessence and seemed to me more like the actual content - you should really listen to her at that speed :giggle::lol:- though, gave up after about five minutes.
Nice if others like to spend time with it, though truly hope and very truly wish that Generation Z et al. understand - life for quite probably over 99% doesn't look like that and never will, even with flipping 10 QB a year ... (while this "mania" lasts...)

I go straight to the transcript and just the parts about the bags. I cannot bother with listening to incessant vapid babble. I am a speed reader too and that helps.

I do the 1.75x or fast forward all the time.. cuts to the point quickly. I can’t stand the mindless chatter anymore. Also at 2x everything just becomes amusing, which is sometimes more entertaining than the content itself

I Am GPS bought a very uncomfortable chair with a hefty delivery charge while angling for an exotic SO.
I watched the video where he talked about this and I felt so bad. He had basically been told that exotic mini Kelly’s only go to furniture clients, so he bought a chair only to be told he needed to by way more for multiple homes!!

Jerusha and Meytal have also picked up new bags:

I can’t watch Meytal after the way she handled the VCA drama as well as her other questionable items. I am very anti fakes. She’s another one with an obsession with appearing wealthy and very questionable TikTok content about it

Another example…

A bag has all the features of a Kelly but she is saying it is not even pretending to be a Kelly? If I want to carry an Indie bag, my first condition is that it does not look like any known brands. I have a couple of non designer cheap bags that I carry proudly but they do not pretend to be anything else. I have a eel clutch that I bought on a Caribbean vacation and a bright yellow tote I got in Tuscany. I enjoy them immensely but they are they own styles, not someone else's done in plastic. Her not considering it a fake I think is one step lower than carrying a fake and pretending it is real (if there can be a step lower)

I agree. She used to be one of my favorite youtubers until I found her Tiktok. There are other tiktoks where she discusses 'fake rich' and what not other nonsense. I also notice she claims all her knockoffs come from 'family friends stores' including her questionable VCA piece.

Her viewpoint is sadly not unique. In the last 2-3 years, “dupe culture” is rampant on TikTok. As long as the brand is not stamped on the item, it’s considering a “dupe” and not a “fake”. Doesn’t matter if everything else looks identical to the real item. I’ve seen even small clothing designers being copied down to the print of their fabric, but hey it’s ok because it doesn’t have a label so it’s a “dupe” and not a “fake”. And using these “dupes” over the real thing is a point of pride for the younger demographic.
