I agree. I’m just pointing out really rich kids have always had access to ridiculously expensive things.
In this generation, though, it's not just owning expensive items. It's showing off that one owns expensive items, unboxing them, posing for tons of photos in them, etc. I don't begrudge buying nice things for kids--I mean, I had some of that stuff, too--but I find it problematic to have the kid show it off online!

This is obscene.

Just imagine you are walking through an art museum and seeing an exquisite oil painting of an aristocratic child with all his fine adornments. It’s really no different, Just a modern version

In the days of portraits of children with rich adornments, these paintings were generally in the home and would only be seen by family and visitors.

Having a small child unboxing a Quelle Idole to the entire world via the internet is questionable in so many ways. (I'd personally find it questionable in private, too, but this is another level.)

Agree. I think it’s really unfortunate in private, but not my kid or decision.

I do wish there were more protections in place for children online. Kid influencers/children of mommy influencers aren't old enough to consent, and honestly, I doubt they understand their reach or what they're doing.

To keep this relevant to Hermes, I also don't know what this influencer expects to achieve with her child unboxing H. To convince other parents that they, too, should go out and get their kids H bags? Right. Sure. To show off how successful she is? I admit that I'm not a fan of unboxing or haul content to begin with (or, to be fair, much of an influencer fan in general), but a literal child pulling an H item out of a box isn't going to inspire me to make a purchase, nor would it make me want to work with the parent who saw this as a great piece of content.

But who is to say they wouldn’t have made it public if they could? I’m just saying this habit is part of human nature, for some, and nothing new.

To stay on topic, another unboxing

This lady is reselling all her Paris haul. I’ve seen so far she has gotten 12 bags mostly quota bags from Paris and I don’t know how she does it
