So I'm trying to build my profile so I can eventually be offered a B or a K but with the pandemic and both kids at home, I just can't go the store. The closest store to me is an hour away and I am so hesitant to hire a nanny right now. I spoke with a sales associate yesterday and he had some picotins and evelyns in his store but the problem is I have to come in to buy because he said they don't ship leather goods. Is this true? How are people shopping these days with Hermes especially if you can't come to the store? I have mistakenly spent 5k on Hermes.com already and just heard that you have to spend it through an SA. Help! Any advice and tips? What are stuff they can ship to the house from the store and stuff that they can't? Thanks in advance. :)

This is true- they won’t ship bags. I asked my SA for a Picotin and she said she couldn’t ship it even though I was willing to buy it over the phone through her. So, now I have an appointment in a few weeks to meet her and see what she has available. I believe they ship shoes but not sure what else. I would ask the SA you spoke to on which items can be shipped:)

The return policy is very different in-store and online. That probably has something to do with it as does how well they know you and your buying habits. I’ve had bags shipped to me for convenience reasons but I will always go look at them in person first whenever possible. I think some of it also has to do with insurance limitations at the boutiques. For example, I have never been able to pay for something and have them hold it for me because their insurance doesn’t cover it once it’s been purchased. They would rather put my name on it for two weeks than have me pay for it while it sits in the boutique. When you do buy it, you leave with it usually. When I have had something shipped, they haven’t charge my card until the carrier picks it up.

Hi, I have had handbags shipped to me during the pandemic. I cannot go to the store or do curbside pickup. Have a long standing relationship with my sa/store for years and am known to never have returned any item. The sa had to get approval from store management to ship and this can change any time.

Did you ask your sa what they can ship to you (other than handbags or leather goods)? Are you interested in other h items that would go towards getting a b or k? I purchase items that may be hard to get from my store from h.com even though it doesn't count. I have contacted my sa to find items when it's not in their store. That does count. But remember non b/k handbags doesn't count towards your spend. Hope I'm helpful. I wish you the best in moving towards getting a b or k offer!!

Depends on where you are but in my area, non b or k bags do count towards your spend

Is that depending on what US state/local area you are in or are you referring to outside the states?
I’m in the US and I think it’s true of stores throughout the US but not sure since so much of the arcane H rules can vary quite a bit from store to store. So if you’re trying to build a profile towards getting b and k offers at a specific store, probably best to ask what counts towards your spend in your specific store.

Agree! That's so interesting that even within the states there is that difference. Didn't know. Thanks for sharing.

It always depends with Hermes. I have had everything shipped to me for the past year, including bags, one of which was a Kelly. Other stores may have different policies. I do think they are pretty anxious about new customers because of so many reseller issues, so perhaps that is what is going on here.

If OP has a different store nearby, maybe it is worth exploring.

I can completely see your point about resellers and why they are so careful with newer customers. I have purchased some Hermes in different cities and now trying to build a relationship with a local SA here. I just wished she could’ve shipped because it always takes weeks for me to get an appointment.

A customer has to have a profile on the ‘in-store’ system, before an SA would even consider shipping from their store. I have a ten year profile of bag purchases, though I’ve only purchased a small item over the past two or three years. I live a few blocks from my local Hermès. I made an appointment to look at a couple of bags. A couple of weeks later, I decided I wanted one, but it had sold. My SA was on vacation and the SA I spoke to on the phone was quite snobby and refused check the inventory. I called a random store, found an incredible SA who looked up my purchase history. That was the game changer. That SA located the first bag, had it sent to their store to look it over before it was sent to me. All that happened within a week. FYI- Hermès stores are no longer able to exchange credit card info over the phone, with any customers. They have a third party finance group that processes all sales through text. The experience with this SA was so wonderful, I just got a second bag.
I wish you the best! Happy shopping!

I live in a state that doesn’t have a H store, so my SA has able to send me 2 bags and a pair of shoes, but right now my SA only bale to charge send one bag per week for me. For example i wanted A picotin and a GP 2 weeks ago, i had hold one for a week
