If you had $3500 to spend what designer bag(s) would you buy?!

First, I agree with several of the posters who say hold on to the money until you see a bag you HAVE to have. No bag is worth $50 if it doesn't make you giggle and smile! And if this is your most expensive bag, it really should speak to your heart while also being able to get a lot of wear. I wouldn't want that bag to sit on my shelf.

I also am going to put in my usual plug for like new preowned bags. You get more for your money and you will get the most back when you eventually sell your bag. Half of my bags were new / like new preowned purchases. Just PLEASE be sure to get them authenticated so you don't get a fake. We don't want thieves and criminals to profit.

For me, I would buy a preowned Chanel flap (it's gorgeous and being preowned will certainly hold all of its value).

My second choice would be a preowned Dior soft (if you can find one).

I wouldn't buy a LV, I just can't fall in love with the bags. And I certainly wouldn't buy a coated canvas bag (LV, Gucci, others have those at crazy prices).

But again, those are my choices. If you find one of the oddball (to me) Moschino pool floatie bag for that price and you crave it. Buy it! [emoji4] It only has to make YOU happy!

I agree with a lot of what you said. The only thing is, I am so nervous about falling victim to a scammer and end up with a fake bag that unless an expert takes me by the hand I would not be brave enough to buy pre-loved.

I am a bit scared of buying pre-loved though! :-(

I would consider looking through the Chanel sub-forum and looking at notable, and established websites that pre-authenticate bags before listing them. You're quite right - there are super fakes out there, so beware! However, doing your research and going with a reputable reseller may open-up plenty more options in your search for a ca. $3,500 bag.

Use tPF as a tool in that search - read though threads on buying preloved Chanel, and then search tPF for topics and comments regarding the seller you consider! If you'd rather simply buy a new bag, I'm sure there are plenty of suggestions made of bags that you could afford to buy at boutique pricing! If you'd fancy a great everyday bag, I'm in love with the Hermes Evelyne bag, and it would fit your budget.

Thanks so much. I will definitely look into it, checking it all out will be fun in itself! I quite like the Evelyne bag but also the GP. Planning a 'trial' day next week and hopefully be able to see the bags suggested in 'real life' [emoji6]

Hermes Evelyn is a wonderful bag! I've been carrying mine all week & love it.
I also love my BV bags. They get more gorgeous with age.
Good luck & enjoy your search

I got the chanel m/l classic flap :) my HG bag. If I had an additional 3.5k to spend now, I would probably get a Celine nano luggage and a few slg's. Buy the bag you've been dreaming about, only you know which bag makes your heart pitter-patter :)
