If you had $3500 to spend what designer bag(s) would you buy?!

Fun question!! I think I would also get two practical everyday bags, a small one and a bigger one. I think the Chanel WOC is great for a small crossbody and very versatile! A nice and more affordable alternative could be the BT1019 from Prada. I have it in PEONY PINK and love that bag!

Since you already own two LV's, I would go with a larger everyday bag in black. You mentioned that you have kids, so having a shoulder and/or cross body option would be very practical in my opinion. My suggestions: Balenciaga City or Velo, Chanel GST or the Prada Saffiano Lux Tote in BN2274, depending on your clothing style.

So many great suggestions here! I think you should take some time and go to Hermes, Chanel, and whatever department store near you has the best handbag dept., and try everything on! See what you love, see what fits your stuff and looks best on your frame. Take photos of yourself wearing the bags (if possible, H may not allow this) and then go home and look at them.

As you do this, ask yourself if you want an everyday bag, a special occasion bag, or maybe one of each. I know someone suggested a spending spree at Longchamp or the like, but I've been down that road and it doesn't feel as special as one or two really great bags that you love.

A few other random thoughts: be really sure a Chanel Wallet on the Chain will work to you before you buy one. They are really small. It seemed practical to me at the time, but I ended up selling mine because it was too small to be functional for me.

Love the idea of the LV Sofia Coppola. The Soft Lockit is also a really pretty, luxurious bag you could use every day,

Hermes Evelyne is a great everyday bag especially if you love crossbody wear. The Hermes Garden Party and the Picotin are other H bags that fit in your price point. Another H thought: I don't have one, but some ladies get a Kelly wallet and a Farandole necklace. They use the wallet as a regular wallet, but then use the necklace as a chain strap for the bag for more fancy occasions or dinners out.

Also (and this is my last one, promise!) have a look at Fendi. Some really well-thought out designs in the By-the-Way bag, as well as the 2jours and Peekaboo. A lot of their designs transition well from everyday to evening.

Good luck and let us know what you decide!

Really great suggestions. So many beautiful bags in the list. OP, it's a wonderful dilemma to have. Have fun deciding[emoji4]

Thanks so much, also very helpful! I checked out the lovely Prada wallet on chain you mentioned, very stylish and affordable as well so definitely a contender!

Chanel WOC. I love the Camelia, it's cute and a little bit different.
Hermes Evelyne....comes in beautiful colors! If you dress in neutral colors, a bright bag is nice.
Double Sens and Neverfull are great, practical totes.

Thanks, yes I love the Camelia too! I also love the Bordeaux/fuschia colour double sense. My 10 year old daughter says the Chanel GST as it's more practical. She will come with me when I hit the boutiques next week, can't wait now to check out everyone's suggestions!:-)

I think it might be a good idea to put that money aside until you see a bag you MUST have. Just because you have $X to spend, that doesn't mean you have to spend $X. You might find something you love for a fraction of that cost. If you don't see anything that gets you excited, just wait until you do. Buy something you LOVE, and that you can see yourself using on a regular basis. For me, that wouldn't be Chanel... but everyone's lifestyle is different. Enjoy the search & post back when you decide on something!

Great advice.

First, I agree with several of the posters who say hold on to the money until you see a bag you HAVE to have. No bag is worth $50 if it doesn't make you giggle and smile! And if this is your most expensive bag, it really should speak to your heart while also being able to get a lot of wear. I wouldn't want that bag to sit on my shelf.

I also am going to put in my usual plug for like new preowned bags. You get more for your money and you will get the most back when you eventually sell your bag. Half of my bags were new / like new preowned purchases. Just PLEASE be sure to get them authenticated so you don't get a fake. We don't want thieves and criminals to profit.

For me, I would buy a preowned Chanel flap (it's gorgeous and being preowned will certainly hold all of its value).

My second choice would be a preowned Dior soft (if you can find one).

I wouldn't buy a LV, I just can't fall in love with the bags. And I certainly wouldn't buy a coated canvas bag (LV, Gucci, others have those at crazy prices).

But again, those are my choices. If you find one of the oddball (to me) Moschino pool floatie bag for that price and you crave it. Buy it! 😊 It only has to make YOU happy!
