I actually have a pair of Moissanite studs and I love them! They are really sparkly 3 prong martini set and I have been wearing them every day for the past 2 years, they still look great!

Thank you to EVERYONE for your awesome suggestions! You all had great ideas and I'm looking over some of the websites you suggested right now.
Oregonfanlisa, I have researched the Eterna Gold hoops (and I am reading FABULOUS things about them online) and I think they are sooooo cute. BUT, I noticed they don't make two-toned hoops, just yellow gold ones. I don't mind yellow gold, but my wedding/Engagement ring is white gold (b/c I prefer diamonds with white gold) and I am afraid that yellow gold earrings with clash with my white gold wedding ring.
Am I being too matchy-matchy "old school" or do all you ladies think it won't look right?
OPINIONS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hoops are a great idea, I think. I really would like diamond studs but it will be a while before I can afford the kind of quality I'll really be happy with. And if I do hoops, then there's still money for a great handbag, like you said!
Ok, be HONEST. What do you think of these earrings.

I'm on the fence. I like that they have both white and yellow gold so I can mix and match more easily, but I'm concerned that over time they won't hold up, since the rose gold and white gold is plated.
These aren't "Eterna" earrings, but they ARE made in Italy.....Opinions please!!!!
 Hugs!

Passerby: LOVE your suggestions, my budget is $300.

Anufangava: I like pearls but I have two different sets of studs and I'm just sick of wearing pearls all the time.

OO let me see: I have a pair of sterling silver Tiffany's braided knots. I like those too, I just want something different!

You will find plenty of diamond studs in your budget at Smartbargains.com or Overstock.

You say you set your e-ring in white gold because you like how it shows off the diamonds. Not because of any other fashion "rule". Therefore, it is excluded from being dragged back into a fashion "rule". It is exempt!

Consider yourself free to do what you like!

Does yellow gold look better on your skin that white? Can you wear either color well? Or is white the best metal for you? That's what I consider when I'm looking at what jewelry I'm going to wear in the morning. I like to match all my other jewelry together, with no consideration of my e-ring.

P.S. EternaGold comes in yellow, white and rose gold choices. Click on a style and you may find choices, like in this huggy hoop in all 3 colors for $60: J71577

The rose and white gold plating won't rub off because there really isn't anything "rubbing" against them. It would be if it were a bracelet, ring or necklace. So I think these are safe.

However, these hoops are hollow, and they'll probably dent on you.

And tri-color is trickier to pull off than just one color of metal, because you might feel compelled to wear it with other tri-colored pieces.

I would wait on these. I recommend investing in basic pieces and then you can venture out on adventurous choices.

why not get some small diamond studs? i own 1/4 carat ones that i got for my 18th and look out for the sales too!
i got mine in the sales for £80 ($160 approx.) in january so hold out until the summer sales and just hunt around a little! (although the price has gone back upto £175 now)
i have to say they are small but theyre just what i expected because i new how small they were going to be and they probably arent noticed as diamonds but i no that they are and thats all that matters!

other that these ideas how about some silver gucci ones? they do some lovely G or GG styles, i also have a pair of silver GG studs and they would retail around $300! i love them i get alot of compliments on them!

It took me about 5 years to get my real studs, because they were so expensive. But, before that I got studs from HSN, beleive it or not. They were 3.5K, real white 14k gold, and they were diamonique (i think that's whats it's called), they were by far the best quality from being the real thing. I got so many compliments, and when I compare them to my real diamonds, I can honestly say you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I have diamonique studs from QVC and they are perfect and gorgeous. They are set in white gold and the quality is amazing. The gold is thick and substantial and the diamonique, when compared to my real diamonds, is breathtaking and you cannot tell the difference at all. I don't even think I would want real diamond earrings, too easy to lose.

OMG! I don't know what to do. One minute I am about to buy gold hoops, the next, white topaz studs....then diamonique or moissanite....UGH! What to do, what to do?!?!?
I am pretty casual, usually in jeans or khakis. Maybe hopps are better suited for me?
Then again, diamond-looking studs go with everything too.
I just want one of everything but I can't afford it!!!
