If you can only get 1 Hermes Kelly bag ever, which one would it be (size, leather, hardware, color combi) and why?

If I could only have one Kelly it would be a size 32 retourne in etain with gold hardware in a togo or clemence leather. I love the combo of grey and gold and the size for me (I'm on the taller side) is perfect.

This is my everyday (as much as I could use her now) Kelly. It goes with almost everything in my wardrobe. It took some trial and error before I finally ended up with my everyday Kelly

Size 28, Retourné style, trench color, palladium hardware.

TBH I don’t think I’d use her as much if it were sellier style.

My dream Kelly is a 28 retourné, swift leather, étoupe with GHW. Why? For me this combination is elegant and laid-back at the same time.

K28 retourné in a mid to dark grey colour (e.g gris etain, vert de gris, graphite) with GHW.
I'll always be a retourné girl, the sellier just doesn't speak to me. I'm a more causal dresser and sellier looks too formal for me style wise. The 28 can fit a lot of things but doesn't look too big on my 5'2" frame. Colour wise I find a cooler grey a perfect neutral which should hopefully last for years without looking tatty (like light bags often do with time). And I personally prefer gold over silver.

Both. Sharp edges from sellier wouldn’t match many of my casual outfits, while I can still use Retourné at somewhat more formal occasions. (Not black tie events mind you). Sellier is also harder to use.

I'm by no means an expert but AFAIK the retourné could potentially sag, whereas the sellier, both from construction and the stiffer type of leather most often used for it, keeps its shape. Correct storage with pillow/stuffing and not overloading the bag will probably minimise this though. I also think togo is somewhat less slouchy than clemence if we're talking classic retourné leathers.

I don't have a Kelly, but if I did it would be a black box retourne 35 with GHW, because I believe that was Grace Kelly's combo.
