Hi beautiful purselovers!

My online search for answers led me to here, this great place where so many fellow purseminded people dwell. I love it!

The reason I started my search is simply this; I got this bag from an inheritance and upon searching for its name and approx age, I found myself unable to find ANY other photo's of this type of bag. Now I don't suspect old folks to leave me an old fake bag but seriously, is it THAT old that no photo's were ever taken of one of these? I don't think so.

So I'm asking you, have you ever seen this bag before? Does it even exist? (PS hope you can see the picture, if not, will you let me know? I'll try something different.)

Well... I don't know anything about this particular bag's authenticity. Are there any markings inside? That would be helpful. What is the lining like?

Thank you so much for your reply, much much appreciated!
I don't have it here, it's in the old house. I do have a few photo's.

We have to determine it's value to see how to divide everything between us. Such a hassle.

Perhaps try looking up Louis Vuitton antique Gladstone bag, common doctors bag, steamer bag. Also I wonder if you could email LV headquarters and some sites that deal with antique LV bags such as a museum collection and show them pictures. Perhaps they can give you information on the history of the bag?
Who did you inherit the bag from? Any thought on aged the bag? Can you compare the metal on the metal of the antique trunks? It may be a true collectors piece that is worth big money to someone else if you decide to sell it.
