I wonder if you experts could help me pick a 20th anniv ring?

Thank you for the nice feedback! The ring should arrive in 3 weeks, I think. Then I will visit local jewelry stores to see what, if anything, looks good with it.

The sad part is, anniversary isn't until January, so after we get this "just right" I won't be able to wear it until then!!

I'll definitely post pics.

Lovely ring!

I think it's going to be wider than you might think. On the website it says it's 4.3 mm at the widest. Most of my stacking rings are about 2 mm. It may be a great stand-alone ring. But its hard to know before it arrives. Looking forward to seeing pictures!!

Aw, pardon me for bumping this, but the sweetest thing happened today. My 12 year old daughter went on a class field trip to the Renaissance Festival. She took her saved up allowance with her ($20) without my permission, and spent it all but $1. I couldn't be too mad though, because she came home with 2 gifts for me.

Incense in several different scents (why? LOL) and then pulled out a ring for me that she bought. She was so excited to give it to me since she knows I'm newly obsessed with jewelry. "It's SILVER and EMERALD mom, and it was on sale because nobody wanted it!!"

I'm now the proud owner of a $2.00 "silver and emerald" (cough cough) pinky ring :amuse:

Oh yeah, forgot to add that she said she knew she needed to go into the shop for me because the sign said "Shiny Things"

Love the ring you picked.

Before I saw you had picked one, I went to favorite site of mine which has affordable white goldfiligree rings.

Here's a beautiful one with a demantoid garnet (green) which is so inexpensive ($399) that maybe you can get this AND the one you picked.

Their quality of work at Janeliunas is amazing. I got a sterling silver ring from them once. It was handmade (from a mold) and was so crafted and detailed that when I went around wearing it, looking for a platinum art deco ring, jewellers kept looking at it and saying, "Oh, you want another one?"
Here is their silver page

The service was great, you can pick out the stone you want to put in and customize to some extent (I didn't want rhodium on my ring and they made it without that).
Here is the one I got:

It was really very beautiful. I gave it away to a friend last yearand she loves it.

Oh those are so pretty, black jade. I'm definitely going to bookmark that site. I do love antique rings.

I wear my grandma's deco white gold/diamond ring on my left hand. Hope it doesn't look silly to wear the modern ring we picked out, on the right hand while wearing an antique on the left.

It won't look silly. Your ring is GORGEOUS.
And as someone whose husband won't pick out jewelry (he gets me a lot but i have to pick it out),I know what you mean about it being special that he chose it.

Can you post pic of grandma's ring too? You are so lucky to have that. My grandma had one but it is lost to the family.

I think if I'm going to be modeling, I should start using hand lotion.

My platinum, emerald and sapphire ring came yesterday from Gemvara! I love it! I was worried from the website picture that it would look "industrial" or too modern or something. But it's actually a very delicate ring. The sharp edges in the picture are all polished. It's great!

I'm still pondering stacking it with a plain band or something...not sure...

I tried to get pics last night, but couldn't get a good one. I'll try this weekend in good light.

I can't wear the ring until January though! Our anniversary is 1/23, and I know I have to wait until then to wear it daily. Unless he hides it though, I'll be trying it on a lot :)
