Coltsfan that bag is nice and there is hardly any patina on it at all. Did you have them replaced? They look so light

I didn't have them replaced, but the previous owner purchased from a MPRS who had the handles replaced. There is a little patina, but she spends a lot of time in her dustbag. This Sac Triangle aka The Duchess, was made in 1979, and was purchased in Nice, France. The vintage bags are so luxe with their leather linings.

Hi Everyone!

I'd just like to thank everyone who gave suggestions to help me with the problem. This is what the handle looks like today (one full day after the EVOO application). It is a little bit lighter than it was yesterday, and still has a "dirt" look to it. I am going to buy some applegard cleaner and conditioner today to help clean the handles because there is a little bit of real dirt on it, and I may or may not olive oil the other handle to match the one that I have already done. :oh:

Since we're on the topic of oil...has anyone considered using baby oil on vachetta? What about self-tanning oil? Why use a form of cooking oil? I'm really curious...

I agree..I think you need to do both. From the pictures I dont think it looks bad at all. But IRL it might look different. I am happy with how mine turned out..but I dont think I could have dont it on such an expensive LV. I did my speedy first..I figured....$575 isnt the end of the world. And I was happy it worked out. Cutie I am glad its lighter today for you. Keep us posted and best of luck.

It's fine if you are never going to resell, do as you please with your own personal property. But given the fact that many people on these types of boards resell, this is grossly unfair to an unsuspecting buyer. I think all resellers should state in their auction if the leather has been terated in anyway, then state what product was used.

If you treat your bags with food oil, I'll assume you think it's a good practice, so there would be no problem disclosing that fact.

Yea I agree about disclosure as well. I know I'd want to know anyway. Im kind of skeptical of buying on Ebay because you never really know what the bag has been through. I must say, surprisingly it doesnt look halfbad.
