I think I'd be happy with a non-engagement ring...

LivinLuxuriously, you and your story seem to be so sweet, genuine, and true. If that is what you love and what you think you will love in 50 years, go for it. It's just a piece of jewelry after all. I do have to say though that I would see if they have white gold options (silver tarnishes too easily and you want to keep on shining!).
I've also been thinking that I don't want a big ring (my SO works in nonprofit). I do want a nice pink sapphire (even Tiffany's has this, though for $13k).

Such a sweet story & a lovely ring. I've had my eyes upon that same ring as well. There is something truly beautiful in such a simple design. It is pure. Please keep us updated .

I loooooooooooooove your ring! LOVE IT! So classy, so elegant, so classic. It's very refined looking and I just love it. I think you are a very mature and wise person, and although I don't know you, I'd give you a hug right now if you were here in front of me, because I think you are just a doll and your fiance is extremely lucky.
God bless you and I wish you both a fantastic life.

It happened. I'm engaged!!!

From my journal:

It's October 1st - I love October. I love fall, I love the changing of the leaves; the harvest. We got up early, and I proposed the idea of yoga, to christen the new month and a new beginning. He suggested grabbing a cup of coffee from Starbucks, straight out of bed (ie: no makeup - no shower - messy hair-in-bun yoga pants and sweatshirt), and go to Mohonk mountain to do yoga on the mountain top. I agreed. We got our coffee and trecked up to Mohonk, parked, and spent about an hour hiking in attempt to find the perfect spot with the perfect view for meditation. Little did I know that Steve had a robin's egg-blue box in his pocket! We found the perfect spot - on the side of the mountain, sort of cliff-side - that overlooked the entire catskill region. It was breath taking. We "om"d and warmed up and did our "sun salute", and after our closing "om"s and meditation, I stood up to roll up my mat and he stayed down, on one knee, grabbed my hand, and whipped out the Tiffany box.

Elegant and understated, yet still Tiffany - it says it all.

Afterwards, he carved "Babe" and the date into a wooden gazebo overlooking the mountain range.

...I said yes.
