I put a 19yr old Louis Vuitton Monogram Alma PM in the washer and dryer...

I was disappointed that I didn't capture the filth to show before and after pictures. I realized the missed opportunity while watching how dirty the water was during the initial wash cycle. If I attempt this craziness again, I will be sure to capture before and after pictures.

If you purchased it online, maybe you could share the link with us? It might still have the pictures. Anyway, congrats on the success! You're very brave

Wow! It turned out really good! With regular conditioning, I think your Alma will be just fine and will serve you many years to come. Congratulations! ^^)

Looks good but I wouldn't have used those products in a washing machine on a filthy bag when others will use the machine afterwards to wash their clothes. You didn't want to wash it in your home, but elsewhere where others wash their clothes was okay? I'm not being mean. Just my opinion, but it does look good.

While you may not have thought your comment was mean, your tone was judgemental. I don't have to justify why I chose to use a machine at the public laundromat vs the bath tub/sink in my home to wash an item I deemed to be filthy. Why would I want matter from unknown sources floating around in the tub I bath in or sink where I brush my teeth when an alternative and more hygiene friendly option exists? I've seen far worse items being washed at the laundromat, so washing my dirty handbag with products created for cleaning (Murphys oil soap can be used for laundry and pine-sol for multipurpose cleaning) does not pose a threat to future machine users. Both items are used in my home frequently and pose no threat when used properly.

Thanks for commenting.

FYI, the bag was purchased at a local consignment shop, so I don't have access to pictures that show how the bag looked before I cleaned it. Lesson learned. :crybaby:
I will make sure I capture before pictures if I rehab another pre-loved item.

Wow you are a brave soul! It looks great, and I am looking forward to seeing an update from you as time goes on. I just purchased a preowned Speedy 35 from 2001. The vachetta isn’t terribly dirty for the age, but I did post a thread asking for cleaning tips for when it arrives. Some people said to use LMB, but I did have two responses stating that it is better not to do anything because it can strip the vachetta of the shine it has. What do you think? Any advice you can give on that? I am happy to take this conversation to PM if you want, and also show pictures. Thanks for your help!

I guess I'm mistaken but I always thought washing machines is wear you wash filthy things.
