I need help; bring back a hair style from the 50's, 60's, 70's, etc...

I am thinking about going to a theme party Friday and I am searching all over the internet and I am afraid that I am not going to be too good at recreating a hairdo from the 50's, 60's or 70's...I have shorter hair, but it is longer on top than it is in the back...any ideas or suggestions, or pictures would be SO helpful! (And what about an outfit...??)
