okay, going to look at these few last suggestions. . .

DH and I just stoped by my favorite jewelry store and I wan't in love w/ any of their pendant selection, and they had a lot to choose from.

I told DH last night about my hesitation about the Circle of Life necklace and how common it is. He agreed saying he saw a Kay Jewelers commercial for COL's at $899 and was concerned as he knew I would prefer something a little more exclusive.
But, I noticed a HUGE difference in the 'common' Circle of Life that I see and the ones they carry. I tried one on that was just over 2 carats and it was SO gorgeous, VERY sparkly.
I think the one I keep seeing around are 1 carat or less.
DH is sold on this necklace after seeing it in person today and having me try a few different ones on.

The good news is that they also had a pair 2 carat tw diamond studs that he really liked:choochoo:

The store had one cross that I liked, it sparkled a lot like the COL pendant that we saw. . . so maybe I'll browse for some interesting crosses, a Celtic Cross could be cool

I think a pear shapped diamond pendant with a halo of diamonds is really classic and beautiful (could be dressed up or down) and is not very common. Here are a few different photos to give you an idea of different styles.

Aspire Auctions -Pear Shaped Diamond Pendant

(on this one, imagine there is only one halo, and not the two larger ones)

Also, a simple bezel set round brilliant platinum necklace is very classic and beautiful. If you get a really thin bezel, you see nothing but the diamond and it is stunning. Tiffany's has beautiful ones, but they are pretty expensive (around $7k for a .54 ct G colour stone set in platinum)

Oh, and this cushion cut w/ diamond halo is amazing, I think, and also very classic, but unique.

Swanky: I like the one ilezabet posted and the one's Candace posted. I have a single diamond pendant encircled in gold that I like but DH bought it 10 years ago on our 10th anniversary. It is now out of style but I still wear it because it was given at a very difficult time during his career. I don't think it is something you would be looking for, but I love it. I think the one you tried on today sounds unique, particularly since DH reallylikes it....and it's close to the studs! You may get a two-for-one gift. Good luck and keep us updated.

oooh pretty mango!

Coachwife, you're such a doll:heart: I really wanted DH's opinion as I hope he enjoys my jewelry as much as I do.

Him being so excited about the COL was really cute. He expected to not want it because of seeing it on a TV commenrcial. . . . until he saw it.

i love the solitaire pendant using the orginal stone on an e-ring, but i think i read somewhere u have urs. but i like the simple diamond cross and the puff heart. they have a gorgeous puff heart necklace at ross-simons, also have a website ross-simons.com but i don't think its on there. for everday use i like the diamond cross. diamond tennis necklace for going out. & solitaire pendant for everyday is cute too!

I am not a big jewelry person, but anything that my DH gives me I love because he took the time to get it for me. I think him beaming while you wear it (and with your beautiful spirit shining through) will be the best choice. The COL is nice. I saw one sewn on a shirt one time with a piece of thick grosgrain ribbon through it and sewn onto a tight tank. It was darling. I liked it so much, I search the booth person who had it on display down to CC and had her ship one to me when I regretted not buying one. There is also a gal in NC (maybe??) who puts them on the intersection of flip flops with ribbons. Here I am rambling...gotta get in the shower and go DS's last home ball game. Will check back with you later on your choice. BTW: ever since seeing your tennis bracelet, I have been dying for one. I wanted one about 15 years ago, but gave up the dream. But the dream has been revived! LOL.

thanks for patronizing me guys, you're the best!

I went by another jewelry store tonight and tried this on, I'm sad that the pic isn't as fab as it is IRL, it sparkled like CRAZY and you could barely tell it was mde up of multiples diamonds, it was just so brilliant IRL:

there was also a cool diamond solitaire I may choose. I didn't think I wanted one until I saw the cool chain that came w/ this one.
Maybe you guys have seen this, the chain is adjustable, you just pull the ends through the clasp and there's little charm like things that dangle of the ends. So from the back, it's super cute.
I want something very simple, that why I like the COL so well, it's kind of basic. I am casual and like to wear my jewelry everyday, so it has to look as good w/ jeans and a tee as it does w/ a dress.

My DH got me a circle pendant for Christmas this year, I wear it everyday. Although they are popular they are still classic and IMHO beautiful. Mine has one larger diamond at the base of the circle. I don't think a circle of diamonds can ever go out of style. :smile1:
