I know it's overpriced but...

Do you feel the bag is worth this higher price?
Would you regret not snapping this one up if another does not come along at a better price?
If the answer is no to both, wait for another at a better price.

With the exception of TRR the others I’ve seen have been around the same price range. Not sure of the answer to the second question just yet...

So by the sound of it most of you are a tad more willing to walk away from a purchase than I am. I’ve always said that an item is worth what someone is willing to pay and I guess that still holds true. So I just have to decide whether or not I’m willing.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I was asking: is this bag worth the higher price to you?
I would pay a higher price (and have done) for something that was worth it to me, even though I knew the price was inflated and I could probably wait to get it cheaper. I loved it and wanted it, so it was worth it to me.
On the other hand, I've sometimes refused to pay a higher rate because I knew the bag wasn't special enough to justify it, so I could wait for however long I needed to until the price came down.

Best of luck with your decision! It's not easy! I just walked away from a bag and am still questioning how much I'll regret that decision later

Hmmm. I’m on the fence as to whether or not it’s worth it to me. I always have to factor in exchange rate as I’m Canadian and it’s a significant difference. And of course we all have the additional taxes to pay. My head says to walk away but I’ve never been very good at listening to myself. Perhaps reining in purchases right now is a good thing though. I do think this style will pop up again but it’s a 50/50 split as to whether it’ll be cheaper or more expensive. I think I’m staying away from the “add to cart” button for the time being!

I hope you don't mind, but this line leads me to another question...
If it pops up at a higher price later on and is then undoubtedly way overpriced, would you be okay not owning it at all? Or would you be kicking yourself for not having got it earlier?
That's the way I'd make my final decision.

Also, I feel you on conversion rates and taxes! It's insane what a difference that makes to the price. It's good that you're taking your time in order to make a mindful and considered decision.

That also leads to this question...is it truly overpriced? Or am I judging it against the lowest prices I’ve seen, both on TRR? There’s a possibility I’d regret not buying it, maybe a little more research is needed? See if I can find what a few more have sold for.
And oh man, between exchange rate and tax and duty it’s insane. We pay taxes on anything over $25 and duty on anything over approx. $165? (can’t remember the exact number). You guys can import up to $800 tax free. It makes a big difference. :hrmm:

In my weird little world it would depend on how often you run across it and how long you have wanted it. I had to wait about 2 years for a H scarf in a particular color it popped up on TRR one morning but someone had reserved it, I hit refresh at least 500 times and bought it the moment it came off reserve, also been seeking the perfect red bag for at least three years. Sometimes a particular bag is everywhere then disappears for 2 years.
WOW, you sounds like a friend of mine, a perfectionist

I think it depends on the rarity of the item and how much I love it. I bought a pre-loved piece that was overpriced to my standards, but I wasn’t sure when I’d have the opportunity again. It’s been a few months and the average of the overage is about that of a coffee drink. Having it has made me happier than a coffee drink does (and I love caffeine), so I consider it a win.

Remember TRR has lower prices because of numerous trust issues.

In my experience if you wonder whether you ought to buy it, the long run answer is always no. Because something else will come along that you’ll want, or the same bag will come around at a lower price.
Something almost always comes along that I want. I do look at the fact that I've looked at this bag for a couple of years and still want it. But you're right, it may come along at a better price...this one seems to be in better shape than some I've seen.

Good way of looking at it, thanks!
