I just got the letter

OP, I am so sorry, but you could always shop Macy's, Dillard's, Nordie's, Bloomie's, Von Maur, Niemans and places like that. Their prices on Coach are SO much better than even PCE most of the time (Macy's has KILLER sales and coupons ALL THE TIME - I love that place). While Coach still is technically getting your money, NONE of those stores will HUMILIATE you like that. And I'd fight them til I got a FULL accounting of dates and item numbers and prices of the bags you supposedly returned without a receipt. The hell with them. That's awful to treat a loyal, PAYING customer like that. :(

Awww, your post is very sweet. I may just join ghall on the RM and MJ side. In fact, my husband says to me, "don't you have enough Coach anyway? I'm sure there's other companies." My voice of reason in an otherwise unreasonable situation, LOVE him.

@giagnm: Repairs should not be counted as returns, even if you receive a JAX letter. If that is affecting the count, I do hope they apologize for all the trouble and humiliation caused.

@happybag: The purpose of having the letter at the cashwrap is more in case the customer has not received it for some reason (some people use false addresses, may have moved, etc). SA's are as discreet as possible, they really don't want to humiliate or alienate customers in the store.

@bluerose2: Bags do not need receipts to be sent out for a repair, they just have to be authentically Coach.

@maxsmom: I doubt the SAs will be discussing the letter behind your back unless it's actually presented to you. Loss Prevention has been cracking down hard on returners, and there have been tons of letters sent out. It seems some innocent people have been caught in the crosshairs. Coach should take proper steps to resolve the matter amicably, if not with LP, definitely within customer service.

@katierose: Gift receipts are input as original transaction information, everything needed for a proper return is contained in the receipt. You may be right about damages or price adjustments though.

Yes, yes, please DO come join us on the RM side! I just got my first RM (well, have owned a couple others, and rented many, but this is the first that I'm keeping), and you NEED some RM!!!!!!!! :D

I bet its the SAs who entered stuff wrong. I had to get a price adjustment on 3 different occasions because they rang up more than what was advertised. You'd think I'd learn to check my receipt right after payment after the first time this happened, but I always forget to check the receipt until I get home, and realized they charged me more than they were suppose to, or they forgot to apply a discount, etc. So, I end up having to go back to the store the following day to get it adjusted.

However, I've noticed on two of the occasions, they actually returned my bag, and then made me repurchase it again with the correct price they should have given me. But, on the receipt it will show up as me returning the item because I didn't want it anymore, or that I didn't like the color. This concerns me because if anyone was looking through receipts, it would look very suspicious - like why would I return something I didn't want anymore, or was the wrong color, only to repurchase it again? I asked the SA one time and I was like, but I'm only getting a price adjustment because it was advertised at 30% off but it came up as full price when I paid, why did you put that I did not like the purchase on the return? And she said that she couldn't figure out how to do it, but her way of doing it was the same thing..."since didn't like my purchase because didn't like the price because it was wrong"

Maxsmom,

I didn't see your thread when I posted mine. I put my letter there, BTW mine said 12 items and $1000.00. I know of 5 items I returned w/o a receipt. I think their number is off. Three were on a single receipt, the day the manager was screaming at me & I got flustered & couldn't find it. I found it after I got home. The other I explained as the returns on the same slip as purchsaes problem.

I think I'm about done with Coach.

I'm going through my stuff and getting together my stuff with tags. And my slips. I think if I have a significant amount I will make an appointment with the local outlet manager & bring it in, so I don't have to do it with a crowd there & get flustered.

wow. Im pretty sure Ive returned probably about 6 or 7 bags without recipts. Most of the time I had them I was just too lazy to look for them and since I knew I was either exchanging or would just buy something else later I took the store credit (you know so you feel like your getting something for nothing lol).

you should find another store, and show them and see if they can work with you to do something.

i'm sorry you received such ..................... service.

Thanks, ms-whitney, I don't want to hijack maxmoms thread I'm pm-ing you. Please take a look at the recent "return without a receipt" I posted about on my own thread. If the receipt mixes returns and purchases you have to document the returns in order to get your $ back on the later purchase.

Son of a Buick!!! I have returned TWO items without receipts - in the same transaction. Since I live so damned far from the outlet, I buy on impulse on my rare trips, then have to return what I don't love on my next trip. SO, I KNOW that my letter will probably be here this week. I'm in a shiznitty mood right now, so I WELCOME this letter, and a chance to call Coach with guns-a-blazing! Bring it, fools!

And OP, and Lizmil, I am truly sorry you are dealing with this shiznit - ridiculous!
