It's not heavy at all, in my opinion. And, I usually have my large Hamilton stuffed to the brim!
You and me both Meg (re the Birkin). I too LOVE gold hardware and you are so lucky to have found this - it's GORGEOUS!!! I think the Hamilton is starting to have a bit of a cult following.!So many of us love it.
I'd love to see some other pics of it - and modelling pics if you feel like posting some!

Is this patent or the regular leather? I didn't know they had made the regular leather with gold hardware but either way - gorgeous. I saw a patent at the MK store last night but it had silver hardware, but MK sure does patent perfectly. Most of the time I find it very cheap and extremely plasticky - but not MK!!

Hey Crissy, yes it's the black leather, not the patent leather.
And the leather really does have a sheen to it. Don't know how else to describe it. The leather is not dull or flat-finished. And the grain is very very fine. Maybe that is why it is so subtle. It's almost a very uber-subtle metallic sheen. Have not had it outside much yet, but maybe in sunlight it'll look different. Or maybe I need to just clean my contact lenses again!
Not sure if pics can capture this nuance really....or maybe I'm obsessing. No....it can't be that!

I was at the store again today and they are expecting the quilted Hamiltons in next week. What did you get besides the large vanilla?
Not the medium one - I can't speak to the large one. I'm am the most anti-heavy you can get. I hate bulky or heavy - I barely want to know I'm carrying a bag and the Hamilton is really light. It should be heavy because that chain is really solid, but MK managed to make it so that it is not heavy.

OMG you are a lucky girl!!!! I REALLY want that mocha Hamilton.....the color reminded me of REAL chocolate and it looked SO yummy!!!! What a fab color for that bag!!!!
I don't think my aubergine Hamilton is heavy at all. It's very easy to carry. LOVE the mocha and the new quilted ones. I've never been into shearling much but I really love the shearling version--alas, too warm for Texas!

In the Nov. issue of Lucky magazine they are showing a similar quilted bag from Nine West. - must be the new thing for fall.
