I just ordered the black one from Sak's, with 20% off it was a deal I couldn't pass up! This will be my first MK bag and it sounds like the perfect one to start with.

Look at what I found at my local Macy's yesterday in Poughkeepsie NY. I just love the gold hardware and lock. The black leather has a subtle sheen to it, and it's surprisingly soft and slouchy. Not at all stiff, but also not as thick and buttery as the pebbled leather on other MMK bags, such as the Austin satchels and hobos which I love. While there may be debate as to the similarities between this and the Hermes Birkin, I do know it is as close as I will ever get to owning one.
I'm partial to the gold HW. Saw a Navy one with Gold HW months ago on the michaelkors.com website but did not order.
This was a total surprise to find. The tag indicates it was a return although the SA said that they have had this last one in Gold HW for a while, and that sometimes the "girls" mark it this way when the tag gets inadvertently removed. It sounded like she was just trying to assuage any concerns I might have that it has been purchased before. I don't care either way.
Looking forward to sharing more on this forum in the future.

You and me both Meg (re the Birkin). I too LOVE gold hardware and you are so lucky to have found this - it's GORGEOUS!!! I think the Hamilton is starting to have a bit of a cult following.!
So many of us love it.I'd love to see some other pics of it - and modelling pics if you feel like posting some!
I am sure you will love carrying this bag - I can't think of anything about it that I would like to see changed, it's really the perfect bag!
Is this patent or the regular leather? I didn't know they had made the regular leather with gold hardware but either way - gorgeous. I saw a patent at the MK store last night but it had silver hardware, but MK sure does patent perfectly. Most of the time I find it very cheap and extremely plasticky - but not MK!!
