I can make my own charms too!

Thanks for the great info and the pics, Tygerkitty! Will definitely try this. No Hobby Lobby around here (but I love that name, lol) so I'll check out Ace for them

Great work! You can sometimes find the dogleash clips at Icing or Claires.

Good to know!

Thanks everyone... I definitely can't take credit for it though; that all goes to dragonette! I'm glad this thread helps though! I get nervous putting my charms on the ball chain as well... I don't want it to break and lose my charms! These dogleash closures are much more sturdy and the base loops is only slightly thicker than what comes on a Coach charm (I looked tonight because I put a bunch more dogleash clips on my fobs tonight!)

I can't wait to figure out which bags I want them all on and just CLIP so easily! WOO HOO! :yahoo:

I bought a couple of brass ones from Ace hardware awhile back, they're expensive, can't remember exactly the price. I kinda gave up after that but you're fobs are on their way to being charms, yay!

i did the same thing but found many choices at Lowe's. they had brass and silver ones of several sizes in small bins along the wall. they were in the aisle with keys, but located near the chain and cabinet hardware i think. i found really nice brass ones , both traditional dog leash and modified dog leash which closed with an overlapping mechanism. the ones i purchased were about $1.60 each for heavy brass. they actually match the legacy hardware very closely.

The ones I got at the hardware store were only like 1.37 each for the silver ones the brass ones are more, I think like 2.97 and they didn't come in as small a size as the silver ones.

I found the trigger ones in silver (a bit bigger than the dog leash ones) at Home Depot this afternoon.

Attaching picture of my trigger snap on my Skeleton FOB, the loop is a bit bigger than I'd like, but I'm going to check out some other places either nearby or online.

I saw these ones too while I was out shopping.. I was just afraid that it might be easy to catch them on something and have the fob fall off? I felt like the dogleash was harder to accidently open... do you think yours could open by accident or is the closure pretty tight?

I've been attaching my key fobs in the middle of the knots on my scarves for the same reason. It jazzes the scarf up a bit and I don't have to worry about the scarf breaking as long as I've tied it securely.

I got some more tonight, I'm going to take pictures of them of the packaging so others can see it too, still looking for smaller dogleash closures, none at my local HD or Lowes.

I tend to like these trigger ones better than dogleash, sometimes the width of the circle that it graps with fits around the metal better than the dogleash ones. One is more of a pure circle where sometimes I find the dogleash type is more of an oval than a circle, but depending on what you are cliping it on (thicker metal or thinner) one might be better for you than another.
