All this trouble just for a bag made in france? if you covered the "made in____" part you would never know. quality is the same, fabric is the same, leather is the same.

Well, I prefer one to be made in France. On the Speedy, the tab with France or USA is right there on the outside tab, so it shows a lot.

Is it something about quality? I would think not? I live 5 hours from Paris and to me it's not that special if it's made in France. Made in USA would be more interesting to check out because I have never seen one here before ;-) Anyway, most of my bags are made in France and the small leather goods and mini pleaty are made in Spain, and I can see no difference.

I know, I am probably being silly. But...if I can get one made in France, I will choose that. I just like the way it looks when it says "Louis Vuitton Paris Made in France" Better than "Louis Vuitton Paris Made in USA."

Although...is that unamerican of me?

Oh.

That wasn't my intention. I guess it's like the one poster that said she would rather have one made in USA, since she is outside of the US. I'm born and raised in the US, so a France one makes it sound more exotic. :D sigh.

I understand how you feel. I'm very picky when it comes to LV bags too. I only want them if it's made in France, then Spain, then USA comes last. I don't think that's unamerican of us. We just like things from exotic places. :graucho:

That's true for me, and in addition some people might not know that real LVs are made in Spain and the U.S. so if you ever wanted to sell one, maybe you would get less bids? :oh: Although personally I mostly buy to keep.

I totally understand Bjara...It's your bag, it's YOUR money, so you can pick whatever bag you darn well please! All the more power to ya ;)

Thank you, Andrea. :smile1: I have been second guessing my decision...then I always go back to~ it's what I want! :p

Awwww...I don't think you're being trivial, I just don't understand why you only want one from France. Have you made a point of all of your LV being from France?

It's because it would come from a different country than where I am. Like Irissy said, it sounds more exotic. :D

I have a BH that was made in France, Damier Speedy 30 that was made in France, a wallet that was made in France, a cosmetic bag that was made in Spain, and a SO Damier Cabas Mezzo that when it arrives will be from France. So yes, all mine are from over yonder. :p

why dont you try contacting the LV flagship store in Paris? and see if they will ship one for you? explain you want one made in france maybe?

I thought of that, but after I called the Hawaii store, I gave up hope. They told me in Hawaii that since there is a price difference between HI and the rest of the US, they can't sell to customers unless they are a previous customer of the HI location, or a visitor there. I am assuming that the same might be true for the UK, since the prices are lower.

I tried calling Paris over the weekend, but it was closed. Do you know what the time difference is for there and Pacific Standard time? Maybe I will try again. Oh, and which one is the flagship store? :shame:

Thank you!
