I think the whole racist accusations is completely out of control. Do I condone what he said? No, but keep in mind, the comments were said 8 years ago and in private no less. A father ranting about his daughter's choices.

Just another example of the media at it's finest, continuing to stir the pot.
 A father ranting about his daughter's choices using a racial slur. It's not an accusation if he called himself a racist in the transcript. Racial slurs shouldn't be used in public or private... :hrmm:

Hulk Hogan Apologizes for 'Unacceptable' Racist Rant as He Is Scrubbed from WWE Hall of Fame

Hulk Hogan is speaking out about a just-released audio transcript that features him making racist slurs about his daughter Brooke's love life.

"Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it," Hogan said in a statement exclusively to PEOPLE. The transcript featuring that conversation was published online by the National Enquirer.

"This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise," Hogan told PEOPLE. "I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs."

Hogan was scrubbed from the WWE's website on Friday morning, with no videos or photos of the famed wrestler remaining. He was also removed from the online Hall of Fame. His lawyer David Houston confirmed to PEOPLE that he's officially resigned from the organization.

"He decided to resign from WWE because he didn't want to put them or his family through this," Houston told PEOPLE.

WWE, however, maintains that Hogan was fired: "WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (a.k.a. Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide."

Hogan told PEOPLE he will use the situation to "improve as a person" and that he takes the matter as an "important learning experience."

A transcript of the audio shows the wrestler repeatedly using the n-word in reference to his daughter Brooke Hogan's dating life.

Hogan was already enmeshed in legal drama when news of the transcript leaked. The Florida trial for his high-profile lawsuit against gossip site Gawker was recently delayed until at least the fall. The star's legal team filed a $100 million lawsuit against the site after its 2012 posting of video from a sex tape, made in 2008, featuring Hogan. The video was later removed from the site.

ITA with you Sasha! Private or not it should never be said! Same thing happened with Dog The Bounty Hunter with one of his son's. he taped him calling his DIL a racist name. A&E pulled the show off the air so fast!

He's a racist pig and shady af. On a side note it's hard to think of him without thinking of those pics of him massaging oil OK onto Brooke.

Disgusting all round.

He definitely has the creepy dad thing going on...

His "humble apologies" immediately after the news leaks, where he admits how wrong he was and how he's not "that type of person"...I'm having a bad case of deja-vu. Didn't he do that before?

He's always been a douche but WWE trying to act holier than thou when they're racist and sexiest too is funny. I still hope he wins his case against gawker because they're just as foul. I think they're the ones who leaked it to National Enq after what they did last week.

I despise that word with a passion but I still don't think it warrants him being stripped of everything he accomplished in his career. For the record, I can't stand him, never have, never will. They're right up there with the K's in my book.

I'm not a wrestling fan but hasn't he kind of put wrestling on the map with the whole hulkamania thing? I... I dunno. I don't agree with what he said at all, but he showed his true trashy colors before... so why does the WWE "dump" him now all of a sudden?

Agreed. There's really no defending what he said, but i think it would have been sufficient for the wwe to cut current ties with him (he is a coach on a reality show/search for the next champ/diva show for them) but to say they are completely no longer affiliated with him and removing any mention of him including being in the hall of fame is excessive, especially how fast it happened and for how long their relationship has existed previously. And with the sex tape and other messes he has been involved in they certainly never had an issue with his moral indiscretions. Like they say though he wasn't "what's best for business"... Lol I watch with my fiancé sometimes...

From what I've read the Hall of Fame doesn't physically exist with the WWE. They have a ceremony and they get a ring but it's not like there's some building with memorabilia in it. The WWE has no problem associating with Steve Austin who was arrested for beating his wife so I doubt they will shun Hogan forever.
