How to replace or fix waxed shoestring from handles?

I notice that one of my bb's shoestring is damaged... I do rotate bags and Part Time is my Spring and Summer bag, and so - having 6 colors I rotate hem every so time... ok, it is 2006 Blue India (wow, really oldie).. but today only I notice little ripping... I do love this color... the new one is not same.. I always get a lot of compliments... anyone knows how to get a new shoestring?

I had the same porblem with my Bal. My husband replaced the original shoestrings with the "leather strings" (I am not sure it's the right word) provided in a pouch when you buy the bag.
