I have posted my 2 week postop VR facelift (Feb 2022) video on IG. I am trying to dissuade Brits from flying to Korea or Turkey. Pay Dr Chris West £5495 for the VR I had or Marando for face and neck smas lifts. Save deep plane for when you are 70! Do not emulate Katie Price and keep getting revision deep planes in Turkey every 2 years. Your face will ultimately pay the price.

Thanks so much Miss Orange! I just wish there was someone here in Australia 👌

Please choose smas over invasive and costly deep plane facelifts. Smas facelifts rank higher for best results in under 70 year olds and are cheaper and quicker to do so fewer complications and faster recovery and with postop steroids results remain the same for years to come.

Thanks for the article but isn’t this from a 2004 study. I will be surprised if there’s not much advancement in 20years time.

Today I saw a 1Y post op result of a VR vertical macs facelift by Dr Chris West and she looks beautiful! As my surgeon has stopped doing the VR facelift, I am happy to recommend Dr West in his place. Consults cost £140 and the VR £5495 so it is affordable and you don’t have to fly abroad. Coppergate clinic says that Chris West, Dan Saleh and Will Holmes all do the VR facelift but not James Smith. And if you ask for a cancellation consult and a cancellation op slot like I did, you get your facelift a lot sooner without waiting months!

I also saw a 2Y update on the 61 year old British lady who also had a retightening with Nick for her VR/smas facelift and she did take postop steroids on my advice and voila, she looks amazing! Her facelift is holding! Super happy for her. Although bear in mind, both she and I will need to get a separate neck lift in the future as it is just a facelift.

I then saw a 2Y update on a British lady who had deep plane face and neck lift with a London surgeon and her face has sagged with return of jowls and nasolabial folds. It is such a shame she took out a loan to pay for her expensive DP and did not know to take postop steroids. She may not have complained within a year to be able to argue for a 50% refund or a free revision or maybe she did and was refused both.

Do join facebook groups for both US and UK facelifts, respectively. You will get a wealth of research by learning from facelift journeys already taken. This is where I learned about Nick Rhodes of Coppergate Clinic!

Remember your first facelift should be a vertical macs lift or a smas facelift and your last a deep plane. You wouldn’t rush into a total knee or hip replacement in your 30s or 40s? And imagine how difficult a revision would be to try to drill out the metal implant that has been cemented into your bone. Revision deep plane is extremely difficult, time consuming, lengthy, and very dangerous trying to cut scar tissue near the branches of the facial nerve that many British surgeons will not take on a revision DP case. I shudder to think what will happen if a lady has not reached menopause or experienced menoface yet but has already had an invasive deep plane face and neck lift and even worse if she is facing a 4th or 5th facelift at age 50? This may explain why men and women end up looking very unnatural, like the Bride of Wildenstein from too many facelifts. Less is more!!!

You're amazing Miss Orange! Are there any specific FB groups you recommend? There are so many!
Hi @6098Sophia,

1. UK and Abroad Facelifts
2. Facelift info and support

The first one is mainly UK and European facelifts. The second one is for US facelifts. But if you join both private facebook groups you can see ladies post their facelift results and even use the search icon to look up names of plastic surgeons to specifically see their results.

Bear in mind they often post early results which are misleading as sagging occurs anytime in the first year after and I have seen many ladies choose their surgeons based on seeing early results on here then end up with severe laxity months after, as 99% of the UK ladies know nothing about postop steroids.

Thanks so much!! I joined a FB group recently and it seems to be people promoting various surgeons and I'm suspicious but I'll check these ones out!

im interested as well. I researched and been following dr. Karim in California. Hes amazing. he does vertical restore which is SMASectomy and Deep plane. This is what i keep asking Korean surgeons for. Very few reccomend or do deep plane. This must be the reason

Hi @Auts,

Dr Karam also gives intraop and/or postop pred. This stops postop swelling and sag. Good to know he does smasectomy but he is unaffordably priced to most ladies starting from $50,000. Instead my surgeon did a VR (vertical restore) facelift with smas tightening for £3495 ($5000) and I sourced pred externally. His other surgeons now do VR facelifts for £5495 at his Coppergate Clinic.

Sadly Jennifer Anniston's facelift is showing severe laxity now. I wonder if she got any postop prednisone?

Here is a stark reminder from 2018/2019 that ANY FACIAL procedure that causes profound SWELLING may then deswell and cause profound SAGGING. If you want longevity, you must have zero swelling postop and that can only be achieved with postop prednisolone (UK)/prednisone(US).

I learned the hard way with a record 5 full face fat grafts causing profound swelling then sagging and one VR facelift that caused profound swelling then sagging. After 6 bouts of swelling, 6 fab faces, then several months of deswelling, sagging face misery and depression, I finally worked out how vital it is to only get facial fat graft or facelift with steroids. The surgeons won't tell you as they may want your repeat business for endless fat grafts or revision facelifts.

I took 4 days of 20 mg of pred after my 2nd facelift in 2022, never swelled and the lift has held for over 2 years now. Don't figure it out after 3 or 4 facelifts. Be smart. No steroids= no facelift. Swelling=sagging.

Manchester Star Clinic, Dr Marando's office is now saying he does not prescribe steroids as it interferes with healing. Check directly with Dr Marando at consult as he did prescribe for a friend and she looked great at 8 months. Turkey's Dr Mehmet Comert told a British man at consult he does not prescribe steroids as it hampers healing but will if swelling doesn't subside.

Why is it forcing ladies to fly to the US and pay $50,000-$120,000 to Karam, Nayak or Jacono to get pred after a facelift as they do prescribe pred and understand the importance of minimising swelling? Jacono is dual board certified in plastic surgery and ENT/head and neck. In ENT (ears, nose and throat surgery) steroids are often prescribed so he has familiarity with steroids.

Alternately fly to Canada and see Dr Cory Torgerson. He prescribed 40 mg pred for 2 weeks for a recent smas FL patient and charged $15k with tax or £8782 so is affordably priced, does smas and gives steroids postop!

Patients can't be expected to buy pred themselves from Indiamart online as they won't be confident in dosage. It is such a crying shame and a big injustice in plastic surgery forcing many ladies into their 2nd revisions or even 4th revisions like Katie Price, all the while making predominantly male plastic surgeons super rich doing primary and revision deep plane facelifts. No postop steroids= potential repeat customer or pay another surgeon for a facelift too and the cycle continues. Break the cycle. Have only one VR facelift ever in your life with one week of postop pred. The challenge is obtaining pred externally from a private doctor or online.

Here is a stark reminder from 2021 how a VR facelift without postop steroids swells, looks fab, then deswells and sags all within 6 months. Sagging can occur anytime in the first year. I was fortunate my surgeon had a 1Y free retightening policy and I discovered I needed postop pred to stop the cycle.

I finally learned my lesson in 2022. I shall repost my 2 weeks vs 2 years VR smas FL result with just 4 days of pred to block swelling. And what helped heal my face fastest was removing my own sutures on day 4 postop (only do if you are a doctor) for invisible scars. Prednisolone did not impede healing but expedited healing as there was no swelling to contend with. Facial skin sutures can be removed 3-5 days post but surgeons usually book a nurse appt 7-12 days post. The longer the foreign material sutures are in, the longer the inflammation and the higher the risk of scarring.

And now after all the years of trauma from facial fat grafting from 2016 to my 2nd and last facelift in 2022, I am done with facial surgery until my late 60s.
