Wow I came across the 45 yo millionaire’s IG where he talks about autologous fat transfer for his baby face project. Alas he has no fat on his body so has to use donor fat which he then had an allergic reaction to. Do not lose weight or get liposuction until after you have harvested your own fat for your face +/- your breasts too!

Reminds me of the old adage, you need to choose between your face or your body. I never heard of getting donor fat before, grafted fat survival is hard enough as is, using someone else's seems like a bad idea as the body tends to reject anything it views as foreign so I wonder how it will turn out for him?

Hi everyone, I had fat grafted to my face more than 3 years ago at View. Now there are excess fats under my eyes, especially when I smile. Could anyone kindly recommend me good doctors or clinic in Seoul that specialises in facial fat graft revision or minor face lipo? Thank you!!

Hi @cherryzz, I had 3 full face fat grafts and 2 top ups. For the upper lid I had it done twice to stay.

Fat graft under the eye should be fine. I guess the malar cheek might be fine too. Ideally take a week of prednisolone post procedure to prevent swelling and facial disfigurement. In hindsight I wish I had known to avoid the skin laxity that follows within months. I kept flying back to Korea to fill my face with more fat without realising I was stretching the skin more and more with each fat graft+swelling. I finally stopped this cycle with a facelift. I probaby had enough fat after the third round, just needed to address the loose skin with a facelift and not more fat.
I decided to get a fat graft after a facelift. I wanted to see how things settled so I did not overfill my face. I am not sure if I should do my lift in Korea though. I got so many mixed messaged on why type of lift I needed. And one doctor was going to give me a forehead reduction without my permission.

Would fat graft before facelift be preferrable as MissOrange has mentioned how fat graft stretched out her skin? I'd be worried about the fat graft undoing some of the lift if I got fg after the lift.

I think the stretch is referring to the excess skin. So when we get older we lose both bone and fat and that's why we sag. If you do not do the lift to remove the excess skin, you are going to over fill on fat to fill in that pocket. And fat should never be used to replace lost bone. That's how you get pillow face. I am doing the lift first to see if that's enough to correct my issues. And then using fat modestly to help rejuvenate. Hope that makes sense.

@Looking Purdy, that is the best explanation of how and when to get a facelift and fat grafting! When I smile, my fat overfilled cheeks bulge out! Sigh.

Hi @Gats, wow love the diagram! I would say 6,8,9 are safe but for the nasolabials limit to 13,14. The problem with the larger areas like 11, 12 and 18 is that fat injected there tend to hypertrophy especially if one gains even a few lbs of weight and that area will drag the face down and create deep nasolabial folds. Then when one smiles, the fat all accumulates in the cheek like a huge chipmunk pouch. As I was under for all full face fat graft procedures, I can only assume the surgeon put fat everywhere as I hate it when I smile with teeth show and reveal chipmunk pouches 2 inches big, protruding an inch! Then I miss my flat face. Most of my selfies are non smiling.
Sounds like yours retained alot. How long after did you get facial fg each time after you got it done?

Hi @cherryzz, my first 3 facial fat grafts were done by Dr Kim at DA hospital (DAPRS) and they did not last..had them done July 2016, then top up Sept 2016 and then yet another top up Feb 2017. My facial fat grafts with Dr Seo lasted 2 years from 2018-2020 before I topped up in Jan 2020 and now no more fat grafts ever needed.

The mantra for a good facelift is always to get FG at the same time. Of course you have to go to an expert who has done this many times. The best FL results I have seen have always had FG done simultaneously. I repeat you must pay for a top surgeon. Check out Dr Amir Karam 98% of his FL has had FG ditto Dr Jacono etc

would it still swell alot if fats are only injected to 6,8,9,13 and 14? basically tear trough and nasolabial areas? do you think it would still cause skin laxity issue since its not injected to the entire face?

how long after did you start to put on make up like eyeliner or eyeshadows? wouldn't removing make up be bad for grafted fats?

I researched abit on dr seo from machipyo and theres quite a few bad reviews. maybe he is good in fg but the bad reviews are putting me off.
