Hi Missorange! Thank you for creating this thread and staying active throughout the years

I recently had my first facial fat grafting (midcheek and nasolabial folds) and I regret it so much. I was hoping to look a few years younger, however I ended up looking 10 years older... It seems that my doctor misplaced the fat grafts, depositing them above the nasolabial fold instead of properly filling out the fold itself. As a result, I now have more pronounced folds/shadows on both sides of my cheek. I can also feel distinct, firm lines where the fat was injected (maybe scar tissue from the cannula + fat?). From a side view, my lower cheek protrudes far more than my midcheek area. As the swelling has subsided, everything looks worse - with the folds becoming deeper and my philtrum appearing approximately 2mm longer. Additionally, I have noticed a bulging fat pad adjacent to the corners of my mouth. this procedure made my entire face look saggy and my smile no longer looks the same. Also, not sure if this is abnormal, but during the first week of recovery I could not smile at all, the area felt extremelyyy heavy.

I brought my concerns to my doctor he just brushed me off and said 'trust me, I wouldn't make this kind of mistake', told me not to worry and was rushed out of his office.

I am currently 3 weeks post op - although I know I should wait at least 2 months to have the microswelling fully resolve, I think most of the fat that I currently see is here to stay?? Is there anything you'd advise me to do to 'get rid' of the extra fat within the nasolabial areas before the fat fully settles and integrates? Will radiofrequency (like ultherapy, shurink, thermage, or morpheus8) be beneficial for my case?

Thank you so much in advance!!
Hi @teeic, I am so sorry to hear you had a bad fat graft experience. Ice the area, reduce fat in your diet, and lose weight to stop the fat graft from surviving. Remember only get fat graft to the forehead, temples and upper lids. Fat in cheeks weigh down the midface and create deeper nasolabial folds.

Thank you!! Would my last resort be something like Ultherapy? I've also heard horror stories regarding this treatment so i'm a bit wary

Hi @peachpurse, I am sorry you are not happy with your experience with Dr Seo and feel you have hooded lids. Did you pay extra for ptosis correction? I see you have not posted any photos as evidence. One can blur out parts of the eyes to maintain anonymity but you have not done this either. You have your own thread where you talk about your experience.

Please do not hijack my thread where I discuss ALL my surgeons Dr Seo, Dr Choi, Dr Kim, Dr Stanek, Dr Viel, Dr Mills, Dr Floyd, Dr Oelbrandt and Dr Rhodes. My experience with Dr Seo was only at the Most Valuable Plastic surgery clinic and not Machimpyo. The English speaking manager Ellen was my contact to ensure Dr Seo understood everything I wanted as I did not speak any Korean in 2016-2018. I think it is vital to have someone who can interpret medical terminology to avoid misunderstandings.

Readers can decide whether to believe a poster who posts with before and after photos and youtube videos like I do or you who posts no photos and instead slanders my eye surgeon. There is also no way to tell if you are a shill working for a competing clinic as shills often refuse to post photos.
What a joke. I don’t owe strangers photos of my botched eyes nor to have my identity in the internet to live forever. The thing in most ashamed of to literally live on peoples phones forever, no thanks. Dr Seo is a known botcher and many people have come out about him. This is a public forum and I can comment in any thread that I have opinions on. Good for you for having a good surgery but it’s not normal for someone to continuously post about their surgeon for years and years and it’s very suspicious. His reputation is so bad now and im not slandering anyone. These are FACTS. This man ruined my life. I haven’t gone out on a date in over a year, I haven’t been able to even look my grocery store clerk up in the eyes without shame. He aged me 30 years. These are facts. Dr Seo did whatever he wanted to my face. He lied and said he could achieve what I wanted and literally gave me the exact opposite. There are a lot people in pain over his botched work. People be careful. Would never wish this pain upon my worst enemy.

To think I was 49 years old and weighed 94 lbs looking old and sad because my dad had just died in the before and almost 57 years old weighing 97 lbs in the after...I've come a long way in my journey to stop growing old. The chin looks a lot shorter in the after with chin reduction surgery and ageing causing facial bone loss but the face looks plumper with more fat volume with fat graft. I hope I don't need a chin implant if my facial bones continue to shrink with each decade! OMG, is my ear lobe sagging? No wonder I can't wear heavy earrings.

Any other tips when trying to plump flat cheeks with a fat graft? Thank you

Today I came across a group of ladies botched by the same laser doc who gave me a third degree periareolar laser burn in October 2020. The GMC has still not reached a decision on my case against him almost 3 years later and have received further complaints from these ladies since yet still no action. The faces of these ladies were disfigured by a taylor liberator subcision for acne scars and he charged them £3700! Please ladies do NOT do this procedure as it may damage the zygomatic and masseteric connecting ligaments. Please always check that your doctor is board certified in plastic surgery or dermatology. Do not trust that the GMC will take action. Protect yourself. Always find 3 past patients to talk to and only go with a board certified doctor. Do not fall for photoshopped instagram images.

I have seen videos of a 43 yo lady who has aged 20 years after this taylor liberator procedure was done for acne scars by this same laser doc who is a non board certified doctor. At least Sk:n clinic have let him go after I reported him to their regional manager but sadly he set up elsewhere. Her facial retaining ligaments were cut and her face dropped. She says she now looks older than her own mother! She was stunning before this procedure with foundation to mask the acne scars but now after the taylor liberator subcision she looks like she is in her 60s as not only her face but also her neck dropped! She now needs a deep plane face and neck lift to repair the damage and has been quoted £26,000! Ladies in their 20s and 30s have also been harmed by this procedure she says. It is so sad the GMC did not stop this doctor from harming future patients when I referred him back in 2020. Although they did issue a warning for one year against his records which expired in May of this year but patients do not know how to check for historical warnings or suspensions on the GMC website.

If you have acne, ask your GP for a prescription of doxycycline antibiotic which works wonders for acne. Acne is a bacterial infection of the skin so wash your face frequently, do not use sponges to apply foundation (as they are rarely washed and can carry bacteria) but instead use your clean fingers, and reduce sugar intake. Bacteria feeds on sugar which may be one of the reasons why teens and young adults are prone to acne.

Do you know how I can get in contact with Dr. Dongman Park? As I tried all the website on Google and they are not active WhatsApp numbers. Thanks

Hi @lilybillylele, try kakao, the korean version of whatsapp. I crossed him off my list as he is now far too expensive and the postop video at 1 year showed some laxity and nasolabial lines of a foreigner patient had returned. Seeing him by his rolls royce on IG also put me off him.

Thanks he responded to me via IG and just provided me a quote of ~$28k so I’m just going to wait for now.

Here is my b&a at 18 months this month. Please choose smas facelift and NOT deep plane. Less is more. Nick gets 10/10 for his smas facelift. I have not had any botox or fillers. The hallmark of a great facelift is that it does what it says on the tin, it lifts the face and does NOT require non surgical facelift injections for maintenance. When you are 57 and look 27, you have to accept ladies talking down to you. I hate it but I get it. I don’t look 57. There is no point in me telling anyone I am 57 because no one believes me. I can’t even get angry as they are not at fault. They see someone who looks much younger than they are. Sigh. The worst is when I am out with my 65 year old husband. If we meet new neighbours, they think I wed a man 40 years older, am after his money, do not need to work and must be good in bed. lol. Believe me after the menopause, bedroom activity is a big fat zero but they don’t know that. Life is definitely challenging when looking 20s.

I remember sending the before picture to Korean surgeons asking them to make me beautiful. That was 8 years ago. It is an incredible feeling to be at the end of my rejuvenation journey. I now look as pretty if not more prettier than I was in my 20s. Whatever you look like now, know that you can fix about anything on your face and body. Good luck to everyone either beginning or in the middle of your journey. You’ll have highs and lows, trials and tribulations, feel elated and depressed, shed tears and feel angst but in the end, you will learn from mistakes made, not feel guilty if you chose a surgeon who let you down, and find surgeons who will deliver more than you could ever hope for and it is through talking to real patients, seeing their photos, and following their journeys that you come to learn which surgeons are the best, so it makes your journey a whole lot easier and cheaper!

How did I go from the before picture to the after:

1. full face fat graft, including to the upper lids x 2 with 3 facial top ups £6000
2. rib rhinoplasty £7000
3. revision double eyelid surgery (upper blepharoplasty) £1667
4. chin reduction £3000
5. vermillion lip lift with excision of lip filler scar tissue £2500
6. bullhorn lip lift £2500
7. smas facelift £3495

Can you also name the clinics that did the work? Thank you

Love your transformation missorange!
You were already gorgeous before the surgeries though, but more rejuvenated now.
Could you let me know which clinic you went for your chin reduction and how many mm of bone was shaved? Did you get the height and width of your chin reduced? Is there anything you’d do differently about your chin?

Also planning on getting a chin reduction (height and width reduced) along with a genioplasty to move it forward as it is recessed a bit. Really worried about the sagging though as I’m going into my late 30s now and already have sagging from the jaw reduction from my early 20s I wish I have never done. Probably aged like 10 years due to it. Anyway TIA!

Dear MissOrange

I have been following you for years because you are the real deal. You give great advice and this blog is a warts 'n all diary of your time in ps.

I would like to point out as you are too modest but you are a talented writer and thousands have benefited from reading your blog.

Also you have helped so many people both in your professional and personal life and thanks for all your advice.

Dr Seo is truly gifted as a surgeon. Dr Mills is very good but no longer accepts new patients.

Remember if you don't get haters/ nutjobs/ shills, you aren't reaching enough people.

Thanks MissOrange
