Looks like 80 year old iconic Barbara Streisand may be relying on fat transfer and facelifts for her youthful face? I made it to 57. Good to know what 80 may look like with maintenance. She’s the best looking 80 year old I have seen.

I am noticing that deep plane facelifts may not address nasolabial folds! I have attached 2 results, one by a US surgeon (top pic) and one by a UK surgeon (bottom pic) at 6 months post. The nasolabial folds are still prominent. The deep plane necklift seems to get good results but not as well for the face. Maybe it would be better to get a smas facelift for the face and a regular or deep plane lift for the neck.

Very interesting exploration of all different methods! I think also this is very surgeon dependent. I think each surgeon has their own style and technique whether they are performing SMAS or deep plane. Some dissect further, some less, etc. Each pulls and redrapes in different directions and has their own methods and aesthetic sensibilities which make drawing definitive conclusions on longevity and better technique difficult. Some are also more conservative and some more agressive by nature.

Ugh it’s so hard being a PS consumer having to research hoping we’re not wasting money and time!

For those researching ps clinics in SK, here is the result of my research based on chatting with patients and seeing their recent B&A photos.

For v line, I would recommend going to see the face dental, TLPS (Dr Choi), Romian and GNG (Dr Choi) clinics.
For rhino, I would recommend going to see MVP, GNG (Dr Hong in particular did a fab revision rhino on an Asian American who flew in this month just for rhino), JJ Clinic different Dr Hong, and Trend.
For zygoma, consider regen where blogger bongqiuquu went, GNG or romian (Dr Kang is very popular with locals).
For eyes, MVP Dr Seo or Dr Hyun.
For fat grafting, MVP, DA but super expensive now, Fresh or April31.
Hi, I’m reading this thread in 2023 and looked up MVP but don’t see a Dr Seo, do you know where he has moved to? Thank you!

What I want to know is why do eyes get smaller as we age? Here is Meg Ryan at 31 vs 61. Her eyes look smaller now. Why? The nose tip droops with age so a tip rhinoplasty can tilt the tip up. But once eyes are smaller can anything be done?

@MissOrange i had a really badly done acculift done by a shadow doctor from ID hospital 10 years ago, they switched my surgery up to a young inexperienced doctor ( I’ll explain to those who are interested but won’t go into details now) my youthful face was completely sucked dry and hollow, looked 15 years ago when the swelling went down. ID hospital of course refused to admit they made a mistake and the owner of the hospital personally asked me to piss off and kicked me out. After two years depression and fear of going through another surgery. I finally resort to another clinic to fix the issue with the help of a friend, I did the fat grafting surgery twice to restore my facial fat but only was about to get 70% back of what I use to have since I am too thin to have a third operation. I then continue to live my life thinking that ‘I got away with it’ and be thankful with what I was about to fix despite other surgery failures that ID hospital put me through ( not important here).

Anyway after 9 years I notice my face suddenly start sagging at a very extreme speed and heavily, and no, it’s not due to natural aging.

I have obviously done lots of comparison with my photos 1-1.5 year ago VS recent photos. 1-1.5 years ago face was still plump and uplifted, no nasbilo folds or jowls.

It is worth noting that my whole family including my parents and my older sister are blessed with no sagging or folds ( of course they age too but very very slowly). I also used to look extremely youthful for my age before the sudden face sag.

I took some before and after photos to see a well known plastic surgeon in my country and one commented that this is definitely not natural aging, more like a sudden case of pre-mature aging. It could be the cause of something heavy dragging my entire face down, causing muscles and tissues and he doesn’t know why but he strongly suspected that it had something to do with my fat transfer.

An experienced translator who works in this industry pointed out to me it could be a case of injected fat being transferred to superficially verses into the deeper fat later which is where is it supposed to be, it is a common mistake. It was not discovered earlier for the past 9 years because I was still relatively young but the fact is my SMAS layer cannot take the weight cannot more and somehow, something ( it could be ligaments, it could be the SMAS layer itself) snapped and became loose.

My entire face really kind of looks as if it’s melting and it’s pretty horrid for someone so young to bare something like that when I have a whole life ahead of me. I am suicidal and on antidepressants atm.

I already tried Ulthera but it only ( temporarily ) fixed 60% of the issue for me, I looked into micro thread lifting but most reviews are not positive because of the longevity, lots of internal micro scarring and unsuitable for those who might need a facelift.

Would appreciate anyone either either similar experience or had a SMAS facelift give me some guidance.

Hi @suncbabies I am sorry to read of your plight and mishap. ID hospital is on my no go list due to a patient death. Big hospitals may use shadow doctors so again a big no no. I can’t comment on your face as I have not seen it. Feel free to send me a private message on here with your current photo for me to give my personal opinion. However, if the doctors are saying you have premature ageing with facial sagging then a smas facelift sounds sensible especially as you say your face looks like it is melting. My face looked like it was melting too until I had my smas facelift. I have seen one case of a bad facial fat graft where the cheek fat graft dropped into the lower face. Sounds like you need an experienced facial plastic surgeon.

There comes a point in your rejuvenation journey where you have to STOP! It was over 15 months ago since I last had my smas plication facelift and I have not had any fillers, botox, radiesse wash, microneedling, etc. Stop, means stop! Here I am lying in bed thinking wow I tried a different way to do my eye makeup to show off Dr Seo’s 7 year eyelid crease more and it works better. No more false eyelashes or coloured contact lenses. My hair is super dry due to the bleaching last month and the warmer weather but I shall continue to apply argan oil and hair masques. Do not get lured into threads, microneedling, acculift, accusculpt, ulthera, CO2 laser, etc. Just wear sun screen spf 50, drink plenty of water and avoid the sun and when the time comes get fat graft from the best in Korea and a smas facelift with postop steroids. I made it to 57 years old looking naturally rejuvenated. The first thing anyone notices are your eyes. Fix your eyes first! I would not advocate fixing everything in your face in one operation. Keep reassessing after you have completely healed which means no more than one operation a year ideally. Rejuvenation takes time and should not be rushed into in one major overhaul.

An instagrammer is trying to highlight the bad results of a famous US plastic surgeon. Please ladies do NOT choose a deep plane unless you are 70 and over. Please do NOT spend more than £12k or $15k. I have my own collection of horror photos I compiled from doing my research but these 2 I got from the beauty broker’s IG. In my opinion, this lady’s face may have fallen because all the facial retaining ligaments have been cut and too much tissue disruption may have occurred. Only go for a smas facelift and if you spend under £12k for a smas face and neck lift, then you won’t come across this surgeon. Be wary of the surgeon who only does deep plane at vast cost. In my opinion, ladies under 70 should try smas facelifts first.

Thanks for the reply -I can’t send you private messages since this account is new. I was ignoring when I went to ID and it was over 10 years ago. I had an old account here explaining in detail all the botched surgeries ID did to me and how they treated me , but because people kept harassing me by demanded photos when I’m already in a bad place + ID staffs created account to attack me I don’t use that account anymore. Is there another way that I can DM you to discuss further ?

Hi @suncbabies, you can send me a private message on instagram dr.unacoales.

Lucian Ion's IG post reminded me of my b&a after he did my rhino and chin and the power of Korean facial fat graft...

I can see the fat that was placed on your upper lid and that's exactly what I want to achieve? But did you have to redo your double eyelid? As fat can push the crease closer to the eyes. If I put fat in the upper lid, I would definitely need to do a double eyelid because my crease will be hidden from the fat pushing them.

Hi @chynababyface, yes Dr Seo did upper lid fat graft, revision double eyelid surgery and ptosis correction all in one operation 7 years ago and all still good.
