Has Yeonmi Park had V line bone contouring surgery? Here is a timeline collage from 4 years ago at age 25 bottom right to top left at age 29 a few months ago. She has thinned her eyebrows, had upper bleph to correct uneven eyelids, had full face fat graft to round her forehead and fill her malar cheeks, had either lip lift or lip filler with permanent lip liner perhaps? What do you think?

She definitely has more of v-shape and her lips are fuller. Even her nose alar seems narrower.

I agree @sunny23 I think she has had v line bone contouring. It is more apparent when she opens her mouth widely as in her recent twitter photos. I wonder if the fullness in her malar cheeks is from a facelift then after bone contouring surgery? Mind you she is extremely underweight so this may give her a smaller face too.

This post is on facelift maintenance. One must maintain a stable and constant weight. Even gaining half a stone or 7 lbs can fill the face with fat which is heavy and can weigh down the face and stretch the skin leading to laxity. Think of gaining weight and noticing your upper arms get fat and flabby. This can happen to your lower face even after a facelift! So not only do you need postop steroids to prevent facial swelling and skin stretch but you must also keep your weight within 5 lbs of your surgery day weight.

Here is my before and after now at 15 months. My weight is 4.8 lbs more than my surgery day weight of 93.6 lbs so I am back on a diet as I know that my face will sag if I weigh 100-101 lbs as that is a weight gain of half a stone! With the show and tell facelift day in a week and a third facelift surgeon added, Dr Jag Chana, I need to look my best in front of 3 top UK facelift surgeons!

Another tip is to choose a smas facelift if you are under 70 as the deep plane facelift cuts the facial ligaments and these are not sutured back together but left to form scar tissue! The facial ligaments are needed to hold up the face! Thank goodness I did not have a deep plane else I shudder to think of how much more my face would have sagged after a weight gain of 7 lbs and of course surgeons may charge double for a revision of a deep plane, that is if you can find a surgeon who will touch your face after a deep plane by someone else.

Hi @Everly07 I saw Dr Kwon and his gorgeous receptionist back in 2016 when I accompanied one of his patients to his clinic. I was not impressed. She had months of sausage swollen upper lid and he pushes epicanthoplasty on his eye patients and she had a massive dressing as he did this also on her.

I would pick a clinic that does not use horse tranquiliser ketamine but instead spends more on proper twilight sedation with benzodiazepine and opiate cocktail so you do not experience any pain when he harvests the fat and when he operates on your eyelids. I never had any pain or hallucinations during my eyelid surgery or any of my facial fat graft surgeries. I am sorry you had to experience pain with Dr Kwon and the use of ketamine. It is a cheap drug which is why they use it on horses in the UK.

I can only comment on my eye surgeon Dr Hyo Seok Seo and how he did my eyes, a British Chinese male’s eyes and Asian Rebecca (@smittenkitten) from Australia. I chose him after chatting and following Rebecca‘s journey. I had had countless skin only upper blephs in the UK that dropped within 1-2 years and it was only with Dr Seo that I have had this upper bleph last over 7 years now as he did ptosis muscle surgery too as well as eyelid fat graft and upper bleph.

As for prices, the local Korean price for a full face fat graft is between 500,000 and 1 million KRW. 2.5 million won is the price smaller Korean clinics charge foreigners. 4-5 million won is the DA clinic price as they cater to Chinese medical tourists and price accordingly. As you are a repeat client, he should be charging 1 million won at most. I got multiple surgery and repeat client discounts with Dr Seo but I had Ellen, the mvp manager translate and negotiate for me.

In my opinion, Dr Seo now at his own clinic Machimpyo and Dr Hong at Fresh clinic are the best at facial fat graft in Korea. For a first time client, 2.5 million won for full face fat graft for a foreigner is standard but you can negotiate if you are having multiple surgeries, blog, do reviews, allow use of photos, are a repeat customer, pay cash etc. And for revision bleph, I would only recommend Dr Seo as he even takes on botched eyes and makes them pretty again. As a first time patient of his, I paid 3.5 million won for upper lid bleph with ptosis correction and upper lid fat graft which included one free top up. As you are a repeat client and getting full face fat graft too, you should negotiate. For my eyelid surgery with Dr Seo I was awoken to sit up so he could see the eyelids open and closed so he could ensure perfect symmetry. Then I went back to sleep.
Thanks Ms Orange! For the procedures do you do the eye lid surgery first before moving on to the Fat graft?
On the rates for upper lid bleph @ 3.5mil with ptosis correction, upper lid fat graft and one free top up - May I ask when was the price for this rate?

Appreciate :)

What about scars on eyes can u share the closeup picture how much they faded by the time please
Hi Naimal, no scars on eyelids. I don't have a picture though.

The facialists who I did facials with never seem to note on any eyelid scars and when I run my finger across the lid, no bumps.
On the 2nd surgery, I got the look I wanted.

But that being said, age plays a part too. I went at Age 27 and Age 29, recovery was fast. My friend who was Age 33 then, went before me to Doctor, at the one month mark she was still very swollen.

I'm a decade older (++) now since, so it could be a different story.

One more thing, post surgery I walked around as usual, sight seeing and shopping, eating. I suppose the walking around did help blood circulation. At the 7th day-10th day mark, I used the hotel gym bicycle for a some light workout.

My facelift surgeon Mr Nick Rhodes has just uploaded on IG a 1 year postop of a 70 year old lady he did upper bleph and a full facelift and necklift! Wow! His prices are £1995 for upper bleph and £10495 for a full face and neck lift. I love how he is very transparent with pricing and updates it on his clinic website. I hope he is still operating when I turn 70! But as he is my age he may be retired by then. Sigh.

In Korea, the pricing seems so random and a lot more for foreigners and there is no guarantee they will revise for free up to a year later. Nick Rhodes offers free retightening up to a year post his facelifts if needed.

For the wow factor for the facelift event in London, I am going to wear this £5.99 Chinese facelift strap daily to ensure my face looks fab on the night. I got it today from Amazon. I guess it is like going to bed with your bra on. As I weigh 5 lbs more than on my surgery day, I have a wee nasolabial crease so I need support until I lose a few pounds.

With 4 days to go to the show and tell facelift event, I weigh 97.8 lbs so have 3 more lbs to lose. The confirmed UK London facelift surgeons who are speaking are Dr Jag Chana, Dr Lucian Ion and Dr Anthony Macquillan. It will be interesting to see what they think of how young I look with zero wrinkles after a smas facelift 15 months ago by Dr Nick Rhodes from up North. There is a prejudice/competition between Seoul vs outside Seoul surgeons and the same applies to London surgeons vs surgeons outside London, or up North. One lady has told me that London plastic surgeon Dr Raj Grover who did the facelift for anchor newslady for Sky news Kay Burley, now charges £30,000! Sadly prices for full FL/NL at VLif and at Girin are around 20 million won now so Korea is charging like the UK and US now. This is pushing some British ladies to fly to Turkey or Europe for their facelifts but because they do not come with a 1 year free revision policy, one may end up paying twice. Always ask if your surgeon has a free revision policy in the first postop year.

Here is my face in my car today. Excuse the hair. I have booked a salon blowdry for next week to look good for the event. Remember only get a facelift with postop steroids to prevent swelling so the skin can adhere to the soft tissues and smas faster with scar tissue, wear a tight compression bandage and do not gain weight as fat can weigh down the face and causing sagging. As my lip lift Jan 2017 is still holding 6+ years later, I expect this smas to hold for that long or longer. Do not fall for the sales pitch that a deep plane facelift will last 15-20 years. I have seen ladies whose deep planes fell as early as 3 months. Just like the sales pitch that a set of breast implants will last forever, this is simply not true. Implants can leak or rupture or be recalled so often one ends up getting them removed or exchanged between 2 and 10 years.

@MissOrange your face lift was a SMAS lift or a deep plane lift?

Also, another question: where do you recommend doing fat transfer? I'm planning on doing my third fat transfer to my undereyes and my first one to my cheeks.

I hope you enjoy the event!
Hi @Tremere, I got my facial fat transfer from Dr Hyo Seok Seo in Seoul. I would recommend only Korea for facial fat transfer as they have far more years of practice than UK surgeons. The two complaints I have heard about facial fat transfer in the UK is that the fat either drops down the cheek or it does not last and disappears within a few months. In my opinion the 2 best at facial fat transfer are Dr Seo now at Machimpyo clinic and Dr Hong at Fresh clinic. They have the most experience in facial fat transfer and fat graft retention.

I had a smas plication facelift. I would NEVER get a deep plane facelift because the cutting of the facial retaining ligaments is permanent with deep plane. Also it involves deeper dissection and tissue disruption. It is far more expensive to get a deep plane (£20-£40k in the UK), there is no guarantee it lasts (I have seen several deep plane facelifts drop within 5 or 6 months in different UK deep plane facelift patients) and revision is rarely free (I have heard how surgeons may blame a patient’s anatomy for the early drop and refuse to revise or if they do agree to revise, they do a smas plication instead of another deep plane) or even undertaken by another surgeon if your surgeon refuses to revise (some surgeons state they will not revise other surgeon’s facelifts). The cost of deep plane revision by another surgeon may be double what you paid for to the original deep plane facelift surgeon if he even agrees to take you on as he knows the scar tissue will be immense, deeper and close to the facial nerve and its branches so a much higher risk of litigation, permanent nerve damage and facial paralysis. The revision surgeon may be uninsurable if he damages the facial nerve and the insurance company has to pay out a massive amount.
