How to get rid of chemical smell on clothing?

I recently got a trenchcoat I'd ordered online. Turns out it has a strong, almost chemical smell to it. I left it outside to air, but over 24 hours later it still reeks.
Any advice on how to get rid of the smell?

What does it smell like? Color/painting, aceton, alcohol?
