Any silver polishing cloth should work. I don't think it has to be Tiffany's per se.

Perfume normally shouldn't cause such damage to silver.

you don't think it was the perfume? it was the only real difference. oh plus it was really really really cheap perfume lol

just for convenience i may try the toothpaste thing and if it doesn't work I'll go search for silver polisher.

thanks for all the help, seriously, like i trust what you all say moreso than friends lol

FYI- According to Helzburg Diamonds (the jewelry store), you need to be careful with what type of cleaner you use for Tiffany and Co jewelry. If the wrong cleaner is used, then it could react to the metal and turn it a pinkish hugh.

I would just call customer service and see if you can order a cleaner.

I wear perfume with my silver stuff and never had it turn black. Looks like tarnish. Liquid jewelry cleaner is a bad idea for enamel. Most likely it states that on the jar?

Get a silver polishing cloth and giv that a try.

I would be too scared to rub the enamel off when using those tarnish removers. . .I would take it to customer service at T&Co and have them clean/polish it for you if the toothpaste trick doesn't work or you can't get your hands on a silver polishing cloth.

I have tried the baking soda, aluminium foil and hot water trick. It magically (okay, it was a chemical reaction) transferred the black tarnish onto the aluminum foil and my pendant looked almost new afterwards. I assume these products will be safe for the enamel.

Happens to me alot.. I get in a rush and forget to not spray my silver pieces when I put perfume on.. I use Hagerty's silversmith's polishing lotion, it hasn't damaged any of my enamels so far but i don't delibrately put it on the areas or if it does I just wipe it off straight away! HTH!!

ok its clean!

I laid it face down (keeping the enamel safe) and rubbed a little toothpaste on the back, where its tarnished, then gave it a little scrub and its all clean now.

Great! I didn't know about that toothpaste trick.. I've always used the polishing cloths but they can be sort of harsh on stones/enamel. I'll have to try toothpaste some time!
