How successful will Gucci be not having sales anymore?

This is a question that is often asked: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/what-made-for-outlet-means.927837/

Left over materials from certain lines are made into MFO stock most likely very simple shapes with minimum labour involved like flat pouches etc. It's a way of limiting wastage (and thereby losses) and feeding outlets between deliveries from original store merch.

Thanks, papertiger!
I didn't realize that was a thread about it already. I'm sure I'll learn a lot...about to read up now.

Thanks for always being so helpful!

Back to Chanel I am! haha. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Gucci, but this whole we are not going to have any sales while still running thousands of their own outlets (hyperbole) is slightly ridiculous. When Chanel decided to not doing anymore sales, at least they closed down their only outlet in Woodbury.

Where I live Chanel invite past-customers to sales, no shortage of stock either. BV is another that do the same. Hermes also have HUGE sales. Loro Piana have outlets too. But Gucci have to feed their outlets plus they expanded their online presence since AM took over as CD. Gucci is now on Matches, Browns, N-A-P, and plenty others, doesn't exactly give the impression of exclusivity.

I'm sticking with Gucci though, the quality and beauty of some pieces makes it all worth it for me at the end, when I'm home alone with just the 'thing'. I've always bought at full price and treated the sales as a bonus so it may not affect me as others.

While these online stores now stock gucci, seems like there are already agreements in place where these stores aren't discounting their gucci stock (some are not included in any promos codes too (hit and miss though)).
You do find they are still carrying past season stock at full prices.

It will be interesting to see what happens with these e-tailers that are so used to discounting old stock and they are left with more and more past season(s) gucci at full price.

I do agree though, everytime I'm trying to stray away from Gucci, I always ended up in one of their stores. I am guilty of buying some of the ghost pieces, now I am just hoping that none of them goes on sale.

All the bloom and swing pieces i have seen here and there in the outlet are the same purses and slg's from the website and Gucci boutique. Nothing different about them that I could tell. Bloom pieces started coming in MONTHS ago in my Outlet store. The Boston bloom duffle in blue was gorgeous! They also keep a fair amount of swing totes in stock. It's the Gucci at the Outlet shoppes of the bluegrass in Kentucky.
Have they had any of the blooms shoes there? This is the same Gucci outlet that I go to as it only about an hour away. Haven't been by there since the summer though. I see alot more Gucci bags around Lexington since that outlet opened. A nice break from all the LV monogram :p

I've only seen bloom shoes in men's and a backpack here and there so far. They had a gorgeous bloom boston but it sold immediately. Bloom wallets are usually in stock. I'm going to Saks LV in Indianapolis in the morning LOL!! Need to exchange an item and maybe get a new bandeau. I Still love my LV with all my heart but I've been buying Gucci like a crazy lady since that store opened! Gotta stay away from there. The SA's there are super sweet especially Mandy and Kim. On a first name/text basis-I need an intervention ASAP!!

Do you frequent a Gucci outlet store?
How often does inventory change?

When you said above that Gucci Blooms wallet are usually in stock (outlet), do they usually include the blue Blooms with red trim/interior?

The sweet SAs...from outlet?
If so, would you mind sharing with me their contact info? I already have an SA at my boutique.

Thank you! [emoji5]

Please discuss outlets/deals/SAs/stock etc here: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/gucci-sales-outlet-web-and-auction-deals-chat-thread.905572/ Very helpful members and will let you now all about current deals (or look in the not chat thread (also sticky).

To anyone commenting in future

This thread is in danger of moving off-topic. Please try to keep the discussion to Gucci's new no sales policy and the impact it may (or may not) have

Pardon.

I wasn't looking for any ongoing sales/deals info. I know about that other thread.
I was simply inquiring about quoted comment.

Back on topic...

There are runway tj maxx stores. Check their website and locations they list which are runway stores. I often see Gucci pieces, Valentino, etc. not huge selections at one time but anywhere from 1-3 pieces at a time.
I used to live in Honolulu, and they opened a brand new TJ Maxx when I was there in 2013. It was a runway store, and because of the area, they had a considerable selection of Gucci, Fendi, Valentino, and then a lot of "bridge" designer pieces like Tory Burch as well.

I was chatting with my SA and she told me that for the next 2 years, the Gucci business model is to no longer have sales and see how the profits do. If the profits are steady, Gucci will follow LV and not have sales.

So how do you think this is going to work out for Gucci?
I was just at the Gucci outlet over the weekend and there was tons of merchandise. They also had a great sale with extra 50% to 70% off so some things. So if you live close enough to one I would suggestion going and checking it out.
