How Often Do You Change Handbags?

About 10 minutes, and hopefully sooner, before I leave my home I decide which handbag will do for this outing. So, it could be no change for a week, or I could change handbags twice a day. There is really no system, and I don't think that I want to understand this inclination to change bags, as this is a part of the pleasure of being at play with the art I reach for, combined with function I need. With so much structure in my life my handbag habits often start out with some kind of logic behind the reason, but changing handbags from the collection is subconscious delight mixed with some functionality, although even functionality takes second place when the art makes the heart sore.
Oh yes!

I change bags maybe once or twice a week. I used to own close to 50 bags and changed out daily. I found I wasn’t enjoying my collection, plus.... it’s a purse. Meant to be used, not just sit and stared at. So I sold a lot, I’m down to 7 bags which I rotate through and have specific uses for so they all get used at some point. I don’t feel the need to buy more or increase how many I have, I’m far more content with owning less personally.

What every works for you and makes you happy is the right number of handbags for you.

There are two things that keep me from switching bags daily:

1) when I go out to an office, I need a maximum sized tote bag, non-negotiable. Everything I either definitely need or only "may" need but in a major way (umbrella, menstrual products, medicine/Bandaids ) needs to be on my person for many hours a day.

There are not that many maximum-sized totes made by brands I trust and love, like Dooney. And in leather--which I've become spoiled in wanting to feel each day, now that I've built up a collection--they get expensive (see the recent Florentine price increases on the medium Russel, which I use a lot).

(2) Locating bags, unpacking, and unstuffing them is a chore that deters me from digging deep (literally) into my back catalog even on weekends or days I don't go into an office. If I had a large airy space/room with my bags spread out equally, I would absolutely change bags daily.

Given the above constraints, my recent pattern has been:

1) office days: same tote/large bag for approx 3-4 weeks, then switch
2) non-office days: try to use a different one each day but I circulate among the same 7-10 that are most easily accessible (literally)
