How many pieces of clothing in your wardrobe?

At least 150-200 and that doesn't even seem like very much to me.:shame:

EDIT: i just went to look in my closet, i think i was grossly underestimating my number of pieces LOL. I counted 50 summer dresses alone and that's not even half my summer wardrobe. My winter wardrobe is double my summer one(since we have long winters where i live) so i would say i have at least 300. You don't realize how much you really have until you actually go and count.

When I had over 200 I always thought I had nothing to wear!!

I was aiming for 1000.

Now I'm down to 50 I always have something to wear - I just had loads of pieces that I didn't wear.

I think my mother, sister and late aunt have over 1000 pieces!!

wow!!! don't even want to count... but im in the process of editing and purging.. will come back here in 6 months once im done with purging...:)

Just don't get rid of any pieces you might regret - I've sold some lovely things on eBay that I subsequently regretted and then replaced with virtually the same thing!!!

Lesson - be Sure you will never wear it again - my other family members hardly throw anything at all and are perfectly happy.

We are all different!

To be honest I have no idea! And I don't think I can count all in a short space of time. I guess too many is the answer. Whenever the season changes, I took them out and throw away things I haven't worn for a while but the pile doesn't seem to reduce at all. But I think I am buying at a much slower speed. I reckon I have 300+ items.

I would estimate that I have 200-250 articles of clothing, but I will be brave and count when I get home tonight. ;) Do camisoles count, or would that fall in the "underwear" exclusion?

I just know I have way too much. Every year I do a closet cleanout, I always manage to fill up 2-3 very large moving boxes full of clothes, I first let my friends take their picks, then the rest goes to my local goodwill. I noticed a common trend amongst the pieces I typically toss: the fast fashion from F21 or H&M, needless to say I severely limited myself from those stores.

In my 20s I was very minimalist and had a similar number - when I hit my thirties my wardrobe went crazy but I don't think my mum could keep up with the washing if I narrowed it down that far...

And there are always new things that I want...
I don't want a lot of clothes. I feel no need when I own a lot of accessories. As for laundry, my load is small, quick and effortless. I like to keep it simple.

That is impressive discipline! It looks like you have all seasons covered in there, too. Nice.
Thank you! I love all that I own and wear every item.
I try to buy all season pieces in neutral colors with no prints, so less thought is involved, but a couple of my skirts is mainly spring/summer and maybe fall season. I find as I get older, I have less need to own a lot, but I have a bad habit of owning a lot of accessories and I love to mix it up.

I am sure there are ladies here that do. I know I have at least 50 DVF dresses alone. My closet is 202 sq. ft. and it is now overflowing. I am going to need to start going through my clothes and get rid of the things I am not going to wear. While 50 items wouldn't work for me I know that I have too much and need to get back to a manageable amount.

megt10! I would love to dig into your closet! Would you reconsider those handbags that I really liked and would love to get from you? They are so beautiful!:graucho:

I don't have a lot of clothes, maybe 50 pieces total if you exclude things like socks. I still don't even wear it all, there's maybe 10-15 things that I actually wear regularly. I have a tiny little closet thats about two feet across and I can't even fill it.

Aww, thanks so much for the offer;) I still love them all. I do plan to go through my closet soon though and get rid of a lot of stuff I am not likely to wear. When saying I had at least 50 DVF dresses I decided to count and the amount was over 100 and that was just for the hanging dresses from DVF. I have many other dresses that are sweater dresses and they are folded in a drawer. On the up side dress are the main staple of my wardrobe. So I have more of them than anything else.

I did a little bit of a closet clean out as I switched my clothes from summer to fall. I didn't exactly count since I was scared of the number but it feels like a high amount. I own a lot of basic essentials in colors I like. My problem is I tend to buy a lot of the same types of clothing in various colors since I love colors. I'm trying to not buy so many of the trendy pieces since those are the ones I give away the most.
