How many of you have had someone say....

My friends and family think I'm a little crazy, but realize it's what I like. Even my PHH has learned to accept it, and occasionally enables my addiction. Also, I quit smoking over 5 years ago, and the hubby didn't. Sooooo, on the rare occasion that he questions a purchase, I remind him of all the money I've saved. ;)

Back at the time i was collecting Coach bags (buying 1 EVERY month), i never heard the END of it! People guilting me because of my bags and how theyd rather get fake ones since they think NO ONE will notice!!! :cursing:

wishful thinking right?

Here is what I don't understand and maybe it is the nurse in me, but women spend hundreds of bucks on cigarettes a month and no one bats an eye, and then later on in life they spend thousands on health care. A $400 purse that makes happy endorphins is a very good thing.
This is sooo true! I am a pediatrician and one of my patients, a really pretty teenager, was a smoker. We figured out that if she stopped, she could have an extra $900 a year, as well as look a lot better! I even told her she could buy a couple nice coach bags for that $. I think I convinced her! :wlae:

I don't justify it. I smile when people question my shopping habits. It is all so hypocritical.

My co-worker buys $300 shoes. Shops every week. Never wears the same outfit twice. She had THE NERVE to say something to me about my handbags. I had to remind her it is about priorities. Some people like jewelry. Some people like to eat. I like designer handbags and accessories.

hahaha
i get that all the time from my friends
but i agree
it's what i want to do with my money
a lot of people have other obsessions and hobbies
this is just what i like!
and i don't have that many either

I'm a family practice resident, and I agree 100%!!!

I used to get the SAME excat thing...but here's my theory

Im not married and have no "real" responsibilities....so it is my DUTY to build up my collection now while i am young! So when i do fall into those responsibilities i wont have to worry about not having cute stuff, because ill have an AWESOME collection built up!

:) im smart huh!

I think its a form of jealousy  . haha..in most cases its not, but thats my way of shrugging it off.."their just hating" lol. I dont understand my BF obsession with Jordans...he has OVER 100 pairs and the boxes just get in the way of everything, but hey...thats his "thing". I figure, if I let him do his thing...he cant complain when I buy another bag!

One of the people I hear it from most is a close friend of mine....who has about 10 pairs of Danskos (not sure if you guys know what these shoes are, but if you are on your feet a lot they are super comfortable...the website is Dansko.com: Home ). These shoes are over $100 each. I don't say to her, "Oh, another pair of Danskos?" Her vice is shoes, mine is purses

As Clark Gable said, "Frankly Scarlett, I don't give a d*mn". Every person collects "something". Just like every job requires the perfect tool, every outfit requires the perfect accessory.
