How many LV bags is enough ?

This varies from person to person. For me, I think it's 10 BUT I have every category covered. If someone had 10 Seedy's, I don't think they would have enough.

I think every woman needs:

An everyday fall/winter bag
An everyday spring/summer bag
An evening bag
A crossbody bag
A beater bag
A travel bag (can be the same or different as beater bag)
I agree that I don't think it is an actual number but fills in a category. If you attend a lot a dinner parties or functions, maybe you want a few more clutches.

For me personally, I want to be able to have something from each category AND be able to use all my bags on a regular basis.

I don't think one can ever have enough bags (or clothes, shoes, watches, jewellery etc). So long as you're happy with your collection and your new acquisition, and you rotate your bags around and can afford to have them, I don't think you should limit yourself.

Hi everyone,

This is my very first post as I am new to the forum, but thrilled to be able to post.

I have been addicted to bags forever - most of my life I've liked Coach, but discovered LV a couple of years ago and since then, I've sold all my other bags and purchased the following collection:
Hermes Massai 40 Rouge Garance
BV Cabat Large Nero
Chanel WOC Black
LV Epi Alma (Ivory BB and Nero PM)
LV Sofia Coppola (CherryPM and Cobalt regular)
LV Mahina Sable XL
LV Speedy Empreinte 25 Aube
And a bunch of SLG's

As you can see, I prefer leather! I also have an LV Neverfull DE Gm that I use for summer outings. I'm trying to make sure that there's not too much redundancy in the collection.

So my question is, if you had this collection, do you think it needs anything else? I was thinking of eventually maybe a Massai Cut or a BV hobo, but I'm really hesitant to have too much for fear of neglecting some of the other beauties. How many bags do you guys have?

Thanks so much for your input. I've been visiting and admiring everyone's posts and bags here for a long time! Also, I wasn't sure where this post should go, so I thought that maybe I should post in all the other forums, too. Please let me know if I'm doing this correctly. Thanks guys!!
I haven't figured this one out yet, it seems theres always something new I feel I can't live without. You have a great collection thus far so congrats for that!

My formula is as many as I rotate and enjoy enough~~but will add the new versions if any~~but it's easier for me as one specific style alone is my love~~

I would say using the current pieces frequently..and feeling it out..with time you will get to the answer~~:smile1:

Nice collection!

The most I would personally get is one medium-sized bag for work, one small evening bag and then maybe another 2-3 bags depending on your needs (or if you see an especially beautiful bag that you MUST get). But that would be it for me as there are other things in life that I want to spend my money on (namely travelling ... A LOT).

You have a gorgeous collection! Of course, needs and wants will vary from person to person.

For me, rather than purse styles, I focus more so on having a good selection of colors when it comes to handbags. I prefer my bags to either compliment the color of my outfit or my shoes. I just bought my first monogram bag 5 months ago although I got my first LV leather bag 12 years ago. I would never have a collection of only mono or DE bags because I gravitate towards the colorful Vernis and Epi LV lines as well as colorful bags from other designers.

Therefore, for my collection to be almost complete I have to have a bag in most of the primary colors (black, red, yellow, blue) as I know I have clothes and shoes in these and in special colors and materials (gold, silver, fuchsia, mauve, purple, and exotics). Then in my fave colors I'll have a handheld or shoulder (alma) option and a clutch in the same color. I'm actually almost finished building my collection and should be done in the next two years. After that, I'll only do specialty or exotic bags.

I agree whole heartedly. This is pretty much what my collection is in line with. Minus the cross body which I have yet to begin to like. Also i use my beater bag as a gym bag too.

Well said:tup:

I think it's a matter of balancing a "collection" that can just sit in your closet against a more practical and wearable collection that suits your lifestyle. That said, your collection is mostly made up of awesome stand-out pieces that will age well and have a timeless look, so I think your tendency to go for that particular aesthetic is valuable in the long run.

Im addicted to the thrill of buying, so I dont see an end in sight for my bag purchasing, since i am more of a collector. Its one of my guilty pleasures that I do not try to rationalize. i just accept it.

I feel that The number of bags is decided when a person is content and doesnt want anything more. Then that is the perfect number. Having said that, sounds like 7 is the magic number for you!
