How many LV bags is enough ?

I go by color rather than brand when it comes to bags. I only have two LVs (one is on the way) -- a khaki green and DE in transit. I bought the DE cos I needed a bigger brown bag. My brown vintage Coach Speedy-type bag is way too small. My bags are black, brown, red, blue, green, etoupe and pink.

Those are the only colors I need, so I may not buy any more.

I have always admired and wanted a speedy, before I could really afford one. The Catogram collection came out and reconnected me with my LV desires, lol. I wasn’t able to get the Catogram speedy, but it was at that time I got my first LV (Pallas clutch) at the rodeo drive store. Now I am kicking myself for the times I lived in France or traveled internationally because I certainly could have saved some $ on most of my collection. At this point, I am pretty happy. I did get the Catogram cat cardholder in the end (my husband tracked it down) and I have very functional SLGs, a speedy 30B, speedy 35 and a MWT neverfull. I plan to save up and still try to get the Catogram speedy if it shows up for a reasonable price. And down the road, when I finally get back to France, I’d like something in black leather for going out. But I am in no hurry for either. I think it depends on your lifestyle, needs and budget. I even feel a little guilty sometimes with what I’ve spent on my modest collection; I don’t know that I would be ok with having more or getting a Chanel or Hermès. That’s just so not my life right now! But I can definitely appreciate them and understand why others want or buy them for sure.

If you look around, you may find a preloved Chanel for less than $1000. I bought a pristine one in 2014 that came out in 2005 for $700 on Malleries. It's a hobo with a tassel in caviar leather rather than a flap, tho. I didn't want a flap or anything that screamed "I'M CHANEL, LOOK AT ME!" It has Chanel on one side but it's embossed, so unless you look closely you can't see it.

Even as a LV lover, I do get shocked seeing those YouTubers/influencers massive collections. Although qualify appears to have declined compared to old times, I admit after owning 1 LV, it almost becomes addiction/lifestyle & I see myself always coming back & browsing new styles.

I ended up with 6.
My favorite=Old square one with the buckle closure I got in 1991 (don't even remember the style name)
Speedy 30
neverfull MM
bucket
pouchette
Galliera PM

I feel that if one uses all the bags then even the big collection is not a waste. I do rotate my bags & just love different styles each time I use them,

Very true! I just meant all the influencers acquiring the same bag in different colors, and very quickly!

Cannot agree more! I wonder those YouTubers/influencers buy bags then return them after filming/photos? Otherwise, unless they are truly rich, how they afford so many bags that cost thousands of dollars.

Before diving into LV, I never thought I would like the monogram and brown bags. I genuinely like pink, yellow, green, wine colors, never a dark color fan. Thanks to YT:hrmm:... I got my first LV - speedy B25 DE and fell in love with the bag after a couple of use. Only after 2-3 years, I bought 11 LV items:amazed:. None of these are planned. Too bad, I still have 1 bag on my wishlist and a couple of SLGs. well no budget for this year.

Some of them definitely do. A lot of these “influencers” are trying to sell you this fantasy and imo so many buy into it and feel like they have to try and keep up.

Myself personally I don’t really watch anymore luxury youtubers/unboxing videos and I definitely do not follow on IG. I tend to stay in my own little LV bubble and always stay humble and try not to put an emphasis on what I want but instead focus on how grateful and blessed I am to have amassed my little collection

I’m the same way. I have a lovely caviar Chanel mademoiselle lock accordion shoulder bag. It’s so discreet and not the typical Chanel look, which I prefer for myself. However, that’s not to say I don’t appreciate the quilted flap bags, they’re iconic, just not for me.

I only own 3 LV bags (that I use frequently) and 3 Prada bags, that I also use frequently. Other than that, that's it for me. I personally think it's overkill to have more than that to be honest. But that's me. Nothing against people who own a lot more than that, it's just my personal preference for myself.
I’m starting to feel like this. I have 5 LV, 4 YSL and 1 Gucci bag. I’m trying to feel content because I’m starting to feel self conscious about owning more. Although, I see more that I love, I’m trying to focus on other things.

Having what I personally consider the classic LV bags I THOUGHT would be enough. An Alma, Speedy/SpeedyB, Noe, Neverfull, Pochette accessoires/mini pochette accessoires, Keepall/Keepall B. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough. I ended up with 3 speedy, 3 PA, and 3 mini PA, 2 KeepallB 55, matching wallets, seasonal leather bags and 2 trunks. It became a very slippery slope.
But I just recently sold my SpeedyB in DA, 3 leather bags and a leather wallet. The only leather bag I have in my collection is my Alma PM monogram vernis amarante with matching ZCP. I still have more than enough LV bags.

I have been buying LV for over 10 years. Like someone mentioned earlier, I am shocked to see the massive designer bags collections that youtubers have. For me, I buy LV and Gucci only. I don't buy Chanel or Hermes as I much rather spend that amount money on fine jewelry. I have 6 LV (Diane, Neverfull GM and PM, Palmspring, PM, and favorite MM). I also have 4 Gucci bags. I personally think I don't need more than 10 bags. The thing is I don't rotate my bags as I tend to use the same one for a long period of time. If I do buy a new one, I will mostly sell something that I currently have.

I feel the same way. I have purchased a lot of Cartier jewelry, and would much rather buy that than an Hermes or a Chanel. I just think it's ridiculous. Again, nothing against someone who purchases those items, it's just my preference to not spend it on a handbag as opposed to jewelry.
