How many bags do you purchase each year on average?

I've been trying to limit myself to a general guideline of once a year, although I didn't pick anything up last year so I have the financial cushion for another purse. Honestly, as long as I'm maxing out my 401K, my Roth IRA, pay all my bills (including credit cards!), and have a healthy savings account, I don't feel guilty. Bought my first Dior this year and am already considering a second one!

I love this! May I ask what shoes you're wearing?
Thank you! The shoes are by Stuart Weitzman. They're my favorite at the moment. These are the only style of shoes that I bought in different colors. I usually don't like wasting a purchase on the same shoes but I made an exception for them. They're gorgeous.

I am trying to aim for 4 a year as I grow my collection I will probably only need 2 a year.

March I brought a Gucci swing tote
June fendi 2joura petite

For the rest of the year looking at givenchy antigona and maybe a fendi peek a boo with my Christmas work bonus.

So many to love it's hard haha. 😍😝

I'm only starting to realize that even though I find a bag beautiful, I don't need to buy it right now. I just got the speedy b de 30 and am thinking that for many people, having one premier designer bag is a luxury, and here I am, slightly addicted. I'm thinking that I want to wait until next year to get my next premier bag, but it's so hard, especially being adjacent to so much good shopping here in SoCal.

So my questions are:

How many premier bags do you buy a year?

What percentage of your income do you spend on bags?

Do you save up for bags or are they usually impulse buys?

I'm similar. There are tons of gorgeous bags out there, but I've become very set in my style and realized I don't need to own a bag to appreciate it. I try to only buy what I absolutely adore and works for me.

With that in mind, the amount I purchase varies based upon what's released that year. Some years it could be 5-6; some years it could be none.

I only buy one bag a year, since it's what I feel comfortable spending (instead of putting that money into savings or investing it), given the designer price points of champagne tastes. This year I bought two, since I didn't get one last year.

It depends on the year, really. Sometimes just one, sometimes more. I'm also anti-clutter & run a tight wardrobe ship so I also probably sell about the same amount that I buy. Either bc my tastes change or bc of wear over the years.

As percent of income, not much. I just calculated & the last purse I bought was what I consider expensive & it was still <1% of my annual pay which made me feel a bit better about it, lol. Based on that I'd say low single digits.

A little bit of both. The last purse I bought has been on my wish list for a long time but the one I bought before that was an impulse.

I guess that's maybe not helpful since my answers are all over the place!

My last purchase was from the Gucci summer sale last month (soho disco). My other purchase was around xmas 2013, Prada's winter sale (vitello daino east west). Other than that I am doing pretty well (I hope!) since hubby and I are saving up for a house. Home prices are just ridiculous right now... don't get me started.

depends on what's out. sometimes there are so many bags I love and must have, and sometimes, there's not too much of anything out there that I like.

Also depends on what you mean by designer, if you are talking contemporary brands [Dooney & Bourke] I might by 15+ in a year.

however, I usually shop a bit more sparingly with premiere designers [in my case Gucci] there are years I have only purchased 1-2, and other years I've purchased 5+, depends on what they have going on.

I would like to stick to 2. Last year, I purchased 3 in 5 months, and 2 of those were impulse purchases. I'm trying to plan better now, and am finding myself indecisive and uninspired. So many great choices out there it's maddening, and yet nothing is rising to the top of the pile. All I bought this year was a Longchamp, which according to my husband "does not count" towards my total.

I like to stick to price points around 1% salary. I've learned I don't feel good if I cross that barrier.

this is so wise. and thinking about my purchases, I haven't crossed this yet. I think subconsciously my brain was telling me this, now it's conscious! hahaha
