How do you save for LV?

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

dunno if others do this but I pay with credit just because I get points for it and I get to redeem store vouchers so that I can use that on presents sometimes, saves me some....more to spend on myself!

I pay off my cc monthly anyways, so it's not like i accumulate debt...

I know not this word "save" of which you speak. :P

That's funny. See with me I've bought quite a bit this month because of my birthday, but that's what I do. I save my money and 2xs a year I splurge like crazy. Occasionally I see something I have to have and I get it, otherwise I'll wait. I'm lucky because there is 6 months between christmas and my birthday so I get enough time to accummulate a lot of money for my splurge sessions.:D

i'm working as a freelance now, so i don't get my payment monthly, so when i get a project, i'm starting to eyeing the bag i want and buy it when the money's out. i don't buy my bags in store, i usually buy it from ebay, i'd rather buy a used than a fakes, and i definetly not buying a new for 2x the used bags cost. but that goes for me, cause i love used things, i love lv when it got the patina, and balenciaga when it's used... that goes also with my clothing, i'm opt for vintage clothes that's unique.
ebay's a nice choice for used bags, but u have to put extra effort in researching the items & buyers. because in my country, designers bags is quite more expensive than in US
and i only buy limited items bag, because it gives more value, like for lv, i'm opt for MC, panda or conte de fees, balenciaga for the shopper instead of city. so although i don't have a large collection, i have the limited items

I also have a separate checking account that I have to go into the bank to withdraw from! I just put extra money in there whenever I can. It is my 'luxury savings' in case I get a bag craving or need to fly somewhere spur of the moment. I also stalk ebay, and tend to sell things in order to buy more things!
