How do you fund your Hermes addiction?

Well I think these sort of questions are just obvious, like everyone knows or can easily research high paying careers. Then again you can also marry/inherit wealth. I'm not sure how much an individual's response of "I made my H money doing X" really helps another person other than to satisfy curiosity.

Actually, I don't mind at all.

There is no obligation to answer, obviously - although this is a public forum, and the question is completely par for course (whether some people find it rude or not).

The thread link I posted above is really great. I have personally gotten a lot of wonderful tips, and I've saved thousands and thousands of dollars in other areas of my life - which have translated into the most fabulous bags.

I am *more* than happy to share those tips with others who, like me, don't have thousands of dollars lying around to blow on H.

I don't mind either. I am quite at ease with human behavior and I am pretty hard to shock or offend.

I grew up with a father from a completely Scottish background and my mother is English/Irish.
My father was stereotypically "careful" with his money; and how much or how little he had was never discussed. He never talked about how much he paid for anything either.

I don't go around always including a price tag in my response to a compliment or observation. If someone say's they like my shoes, or purse;I don't say "Thank You, Manolo Blahnik $429.00, on sale at Sak's, Hermes Birkin $7,550.00"!
If someone wants to ask me how much anything costs;I am fine with that.
I may not always remember exactly? But I can give a ballpark figure.

I am pretty open, and approachable if I feel a persons intentions, or agenda are sincere.

And in answer to the Op's question?

I can only afford Hermes because I am lucky. I married a man who worked his a$$ off for many years building his company. He became very wealthy.
He became even wealthier when he took his company public.

But even if my husband was a billionaire; he would never indulge me in multiple Birkins and Kelly's; exotic or otherwise.
He thinks I have enough already, and although he is not unhappy that he still has a croc Kelly to pay for,he is not going to look at it and say ":woohoo:"! LOL

The tips are really great in 'professional dancing'. Work is actually easy, half the time you're really just sitting down!!!

I don't mind it either as long as they don't make unnecessary comments later like, "OMG, that can be a downpayment for a car/house!" I hate that. It's like an indirect remark that they spend money better than you.

I don't have an H bag yet. That happened with my LVs.

That hits the nail square on the head for me,I wear a nice watch, and time and time again I have had people go,'wow, its lovely, but I would rather spend that amount on something useful' and it irritates me beyond belief.I know I'm lucky, and I don't need reminding of it in the same sentence as 'how many starving people are there in the world that could benefit from all that spent on one watch' For me its a snidey put down said to instill guilt.
I would just prefer not to be asked the question,if it was someone genuinely interested in the item, and really was wanting to get something similar or the same,I have no problem with it at all.Its really how I'm asked I guess.
