I would let my good friend borrow whatever she wanted as long as I wasn't wearing it. However, that being said, my friend would never abuse this and it would only be once in a blue moon. I like the idea of a shopping trip. That is fun for both!

I would be flattered that your friend likes your clothes enough to want to borrow them. Some people have a hard time buying their own clothes. She obviously really likes your taste to I think it would be a good idea to offer to help her shop for a new wardrobe.

I don't lend out my clothes to friends, probably because I don't see them as often--I work long hours and spend my weekends running errands and catching up on sleep.

I will always lend to my sisters, though.

The only person that gets to borrow my stuff is my best friend (who also happens to be my cousin), and she would never take advantage of that.

As far as other friends go, they have asked to borrow a few things occationally, but I've told them something like "I was thinking of wearing that tomorrow actually", which means no but I try to put it in a nice way. It's not so much about the fact that I am afraid of not getting the clothes back, I just dont feel comfortable with the thought that someone else is using my clothes.

Ive had the same thing happen repeatedly with a few of my friends. I lend them clothes and people think that its their clothes. Ive had several occasions when people have said they liked my clothes when theyre on one of my friends, and then when Ive worn them, people have said "Thats (insert name here) shirt! She has such cute clothes!" Basically I flipped. So I dont let people borrow my stuff anymore. Not to mention that same friend stole a pair of sunglasses of mine and flat out LIED and told me they were hers, when she commented on how much she liked them the day before. Ive just had bad experiences with that area, so Im done with that! I even sometimes will put away certain items if she is coming over to my house so she wont ask to borrow it or try it on and strech it out like shes done in the past. (Im a size 0 and shes a size 4- so you can see how my clothes get streched). I love her to death, but some things just have to be done..

Personally, I don't loan my clothes. I used to and never got them back. :push: . How many times is appropriate? Only as many times as you feel comfortable with.

well it depends if she has good stuff to lend you too. If its a one way street then I'd say no and take her on a shopping spree. You can show her where you'd like to shop so she knows where to find stuff that's nice

For smaller things like shirts and accessories, i don't care. A dress is kind of a big item, and I think I would only let my friends borrow one if she was going to an event that was outside of my social circle. You can't really wear a dress more than once or twice among the same people, and people will definitely remember seeing it. If she was going somewhere without anyone i know present, then i wouldn't care.

Yup, ITA

It really depends on how close you guys are and how comfortable the lending party is.

I had a roommate that would always ask to borrow my clothes. Just to give you an idea, I'm an A cup and shes a C cup so we were OBVIOUSLY different sizes. She loved my tiny tops because they were uber fitting and sexy on her. Some items I had looked VERY GOOD on her and I never really wore them so I didn't care. What bugged me was when she would borrow my favorite tops and stretch them out. I hated that, yet since we were roommates I didn't want to say no. It was a really sticky situation.
