Ahh my post got deleted when they merged this thread... anyway I just got this shelf from ikea:

My bf is going to hang it horizontally in the wall of our spare bedroom and the plan is to fit them inside the shelf spaces and on top, and then add some hooks underneath to hang some bags as well. Right now my bags are all over the spare bedroom, so anything would be an improvement at this point! I'll post some pics when we finish. I have a coat rack too that my mom found at a yard sale that I use for my other less expensive bags from aldo, h&M, tj maxx, etc. It has been working really well.. I probably have 24 or so bags hanging on it, but it won't work for my nicer bags because I don't want them to touch. I like the idea of using tags because the room gets a decent amount of sun, so I will probably keep most of them in their dustbags. I'm really looking forward to the day we can walk around the bed in that room without tripping over boxes! Thanks for posting all of the pictures - they are really great ideas!!

All of my bags are in dustbags on shelves in my walk-in closet. Why do I even call it a walk-in closet? Oh, you can walk in; turn around, maybe that's about it! If they do not have a dustbag, I always make one for them.

Wow! I love seeing all these ideas! I have two spare bedrooms and I'm going to turn one into a walk in closet, purse display, jewelry, shoe area. I want to start this summer and make the whole room mine.....girly, pink, bling....oh....and did I say....all mine?! Hee hee! Just have to get started!!!

I have actually moved them around now. There is a space between them all and I put the MK in my walkin on purse hangers. I don't like them being open to light either. I may take photos of each and put the pic above each bag...ADHD WHEELS A TURNIN!! :graucho:

I do something very much like this. I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased a couple packages of multi colored foam sheets. I find the color that coordinates with the bag and cut out a decent sized rectangle. On the rectangles I use a special marker that writes on foam. I jot the name of the bag. Then I use a safety pin and fix it onto the dust bag. Then I store them by color, separating fall/winter from the spring/summer so I can at least know which closet to go to, to grab a bag. I store them on racks in our large walk in closet as well as another walk in closet in a spare bedroom. I can find them very easily, since the big foam piece on the bag helps me find the color I'm looking for.

Now here's where I admittedly get really compulsive. I keep a pic file of all my bags, sorted by color and download the pics to my I phone. So when I'm getting ready, I take a look at my black bags, or pink ones or red, or whatever goes best with what I'm wearing, and then go to grab it, which is so much easier now that I used the foam tags in the coordinating color.

Since I started doing this, I also take the Iphone pic and make the bag I am wearing that day my phone's wallpaper.

Yep, call me scarface. I'm an addict.....:p:p:p Pretty soon I'll be cutting up leather on a mirror and snorting it up my nose with a straw. LOL
