How do you carry your bags and why?

I like cross-body the best because I use public transportation a lot and I walk a lot. It's hands-free, it's secure, it's effortless. I often put them on my shoulder too, left shoulder, left-handed. Feels odd on my right shoulder. But yeah, getting it to stay there is a challenge sometimes.

If I'm using something that doesn't have a shoulder strap, I'll carry it on my arm or in my hand. Sometimes I'll opt for my arm or hand even if there is a shoulder strap, just depends on the situation. I agree that on the arm is the classiest.

99% of the time, I will shoulder carry (alternate between shoulders) because I'm weak and don't want to stress my poor hands carrying the heavy bag (I should really learn to carry less stuff!).

If there's a crossbody strap, I will alternate between it and shoulder carry.

Hand carry or carrying a bag on the bend of my arms is too tiring for me. :sweatdrop:

On my left shoulder - sometimes with my left hand thumb hooked around the strap(s). Although when precious seconds matter I have been known to slip the straps of a bag right over my head to dangle from my neck and down my chest. (Like when picking up two little dogs and holding one under each arm.) In Dog Rescue sometimes you find yourself putting pups inside your bag too, but that's another topic altogether.:doggie::heart:

I don't think this is weird at all. This is the way I carry my bags, as well.
It makes sense, you'll have your better hand free for doing stuff. I do this as well if I have a bag I have to carry in my hand or in the crook of my arm.
My favorite, though, is a crossbody bag hanging low on my left side so I have both my hands free and my shoulders won't start acheing.

Always on the left side, and I am right-handed.

Most of the time, I carry my bags crossbody. It's just easier that way. Tried carrying my Galleria (not one of my most used bags) on the crook of the arm, but that look didn't really stick, so hand-carry it is for that one :)

However, the last bag I bought came with a shoulder strap, and it's so pretty that I really don't want to replace it with a different strap, so shoulder it is! Typically straps would slide off my shoulder, but this bag's strap has a shoulder patch, so it actually stays in place.

I use totes a lot so I carry those over the shoulder. Recently I started using smaller bags with shoulder straps to carry crossbody or over one shoulder. I don't like to carry my bags in my hand or in the crook of my arm much, but I've been trying it with certain top handle bags. I looks better/more composed with that style. Overall, I prefer shoulder/crossbody because my hands are free and it's comfortable for me.

How do you usually carry your most commonly carried/favourite bag?

I'm male so my favourite way to carry a bag (I usually carry "womens" bags that look unisex or masculine) is with the bag in my hand and down by my side. I think this makes me look more dramatic and powerful as a man carrying a bag made for women! I just think it makes me look most fashionable really. :P

However, if my bag (my main one is the Coach Borough BTW) is too heavy, I wear it on my shoulder. I dislike doing this however as I worry about it getting damaged, it's hard to control your bag when it's on your hand in situations such as being on the bus, on the underground, etc.

Over the shoulder, and usually big enough to carry a MacBook Air and what I need, not a fan of the micro bags as they are pretty useless for my needs
