How do I care for a tie-dye MAC?

Did anyone have success in treating one of the tye-die bags? I have the purple tie-dye MAC and I want to protect it before I use it, but I am so scared of using the wrong kind of leather protector and having the colors run! I am thinking a spray would be best, but...

The colors would run...? This is dyed leather, right? I guess I missed where somebody had trouble with the colors running.

Hmmm...that's a good suggestion. Maybe I will do that. I am planning on using TLC Leather & Suede Protector.

I would just spray it. If it's like the fossil leathers it can't be conditioned.

Not sure about tie dye leather but tie dye clothes do tend to run llike crazy.

THANK GOD you suggested this! I carried out the experiment today, and the results were NOT good. Some of the white areas made out fine, but some turned a light bluish-purple...just as I (reluctantly) expected!

My first RM bag! How annoying! I should have stuck to my original plan and not treated it at all.

OOh thanks for letting me know I haven't treated my purple 3 zip tie dye rocker for fear that might happen.

Yeah, I was trained to think I HAD to protect all of my bags, no matter what. I was just too ambitious.

I usually don't treat my bags, i prefer them to age naturally.

Any ideas on how long before the color bleeds or the white part starts going yellow if you don't treat it? I'm deciding much mileage I can get out of it before I take the plunge ^_^ Never bought a white or tie-dyed bag before >_<
