I'll help you keep a look out for the 31 etoupe bolide. Will let you know when if I see it. (although i did see a toile/vermillon bolide at Harrods..i think!)

Well done:tup: that said , you deserve to go shopping:yahoo: i just spoke to Harrods. They have my perfect bolide, but its in swift, not togo. im thinking hard. ouch !!

From my understanding, the only way to get a Birkin Bag just walking into the store is if you're walking in with an American Express Black Card. Sorry. Try buying smaller items first then after a few visits casually bring up the Birkin. If you're lucky they will put you on a waiting list.

How many Hermes bags did you buy? This is not the way the stuff behaves at Hermes generally. It is the most friendly stuff of all shops in this price-category. And there are so many Birkins out now at the moment. Yes - you have to wait, if you like a special color and leather - but as everywhere, if you make a custom deal.

So they call you and you have 48hours for your decision. Thats the way how it works in Europe all round.

^^ This is precisely why I refuse to buy Hermes in the United States. I think it's wrong to have to curry favor with an SA by purchasing things before you are deemed worthy enough to purchase a Birkin.

I think it's ridiculous you have to go through the proces of building a relationship with the sa. For God's sake, it's a handbag, not some insanely big royal diamond! I love bags and I love the birkin, but this is crazy!

I've only been to Hermes stores in Europe and have never felt any pressure to buy tonnes of little things to get in the SA's "good graces". I was offered a Birkin order on my first visit to H in Amsterdam.

As you can see from my avatar I got the Birkin. I never had to purchase something from any store, I never had a relationship with an SA. What I did do is send my brother to each of the NY stores and introduce himself to the managers I had called ahead of time. Before I even sent my brother in I got a call within 3 days that a 40 had come in but since my brother was not in NY at the time I lost that bag. Without waiting for another phone call my brother went in one day and said hello to the manager again and was offered the bag. Ironically, the other store left a message the next morning that they had bags in as well and to hurry down because they do a first come first served when the doors open. I hope some of this information has been useful to you.

The easiest way to land a Birkin is to buy a ticket from Philadelphia to Paris and land at the mother ship checking for shipments on Tuesday afternoon (as I recall a prime time for orange packages) and being persistent.

Another way of obtaining a Birkin which worked for a friend of mine is knowing someone who has bought one already and asking them to introduce you to the manager to get on their graces.
