How do H wallets hold up with daily use?

I’ve had many hesitations on wallets. My epsom card holder quickly got a large scratch so I know that’s not the leather for me. I have a Chanel wallet that’s only a year old that is wearing terribly...and that’s including rotating it with other wallets.

I also have a Valentino wallet that is 2 years old and a Chloe wallet that is at least 5 years old. Neither look nearly as worn as my 1 year old Chanel wallet. Its hard to fathom Epsom and Chèvre being more delicate than my current Chanel wallet (calfskin)! My 5 year old Chloe looks much newer than my Chanel.

While I like the H leathers, I probably will not indulge in their SLGs. I also will never buy another Chanel wallet. I would rather buy another Chloe that’s 1/2 the price of Chanel and at least a 1/6 the price of Hermes.

Wow I am surprised at how terribly the chanel wore. Did you go back to Chanel and show them? If its only been a year I'm sure they would do something about it. I bought an lv wallet in 2017 and there was very minor glazing cracking in one corner. I brought it into lv and they gave me a new one in exchange

Been using a Bearn on and off for a couple years with next to no wear. I promised it to my mom because I want different colors. She is waiting anxiously! I am hard on wallets and this one is the best next to a Tod's.

I have had a Kelly long wallet and the medium version for years in epsom and love them. Unfortunately, I am not as gentle as I could/should be with my SLGs but they have held up very well and I love using them both.

I fell in love with Kelly wallet ( both long and short version) I have no problem with those straps at all. I use my long version for about a year, every day. Then I switch to the short version and use it every day for about 9 months. They both look brand new even though I don't baby them, the hardware has scratches and some white spots ( someone said it is fat from the leather) appear on my red one. No one pays attention to those little details except me. So I am very happy with them.
Sometimes I use my Flore Compact Wallet because I don't want my Mini Evelyne to be poked by Kelly lock

While it is not a wallet, my epsom calvi card holder got run over by a car last year when it slipped out of my pocket as I was crossing a busy street in Boston. Other than some small indents it still looks fantastic. I would highly recommend the epsom leather for a wallet!

Thank you for sharing your experience with Epsom. I love it too. My Epsom wallets do hold better shape than Mysore Goat skin wallet.
Kelly wallet twins!
 Now I am using Bearn mini cardholder and silkn compact wallet to have extra space in my bag to hold hand sanitizer. :giggle:

I bought I black BC rghw a year ago after I moved countries and the new, paper notes were not fitting in my Chanel. Fast forward 11months, and I love it, it has aged better than my Chanel’s and makes me smile when I look at it. Christmas then brought me an etain rghw BC and As I love this mix and wanted a smaller option for evening bags. Like you, I was travelling, saw a blu nuit rghw matt croc at the airport, loved it but given I had one already which was only a few moths old at the time I said no. But I still think about that little wallet...sigh. And to add I would love a mini in a bright colour
Ps I cannot imagine not using a BC now, I think it’s perfect for me (today..)

Bumping this thread to ask longtime Bearn owners how the tab holds up over years of regular use? Does the edge coating wear off or crack with frequent use? Debating whether or not to keep a beautiful Mysore mini Bearn I just ordered from the H website. It would replace a Prada saffiano card case I have been using as a wallet daily for nearly 10 years; I am not especially hard on my things but like them to last a long time. Am I better off with a calvi? The calvi is enough space but no room for coins and I do not want to carry a separate coin purse (nor do I want a larger wallet).

Thanks for any insight!
